Do you have any a personal theory or head canon

I wanted to see if anyone here had any theories or head canons about the world of Don’t Starve. 

My own theory is about the ancient civilization 

They surrendered their physical forms in favor of bodies made out of nightmare fuel as a way to rebel against or fight Alter. Somehow Alter was able to compel their worship or possess them as we see happen with post rift bosses like deerclops and bearger, various flora, or with any creature that dies on the lunar island.

I think that the gestalts were used to control the minds/bodies of the ancient civilization so the ancients contracted with another deity for forms that would make them immune to the mutagenic and mind altering forces of the Moon. However this came with the cost of their sanity which was steadily eroded over time. This left the ancients as little more than puppets of whatever god transformed them. In the end, they suffered nearly the same fate that they would have under Alter. Perhaps an even worse one. 
 

I think this explains the nature of the nightmare creatures, their relationship for madness, and the lore of the ancient civilization.

so long we dont have rift final boss thingys that hopefully would reset the rifts completly untill you have to reactivate them again with fuei weaver or celestial champion i can only make my head canon that the 2 bosse will be they them shadow moon boss...wich would be the big boss of each side

the final boss of shadow being....big dark dragon...because the eye makes sense to be classic european dragon right? and i got a weakness for big dark dragons, for moon? hmm...plant....something weird plant life i would guess, wormwood 2.0 or something, bigger vine monster like kinda thingy, that has moon rocks as armor

In the before Woodie actually had a wife at one point, a real wife and she hated the fact the woodie constantly chopped trees instead of spending time with her. But one day she was killed in a tragic logging accident caused by a fallen tree from none other than Woodie himself. Haunted by the fact of what he’s done woodie now instills her personality into the axe he used to chop down that tree. The reason why the axe constantly wants to chop trees is actually to protect woodie’s denial of what he has done.

Sure, why not give a funny one I have been thinking about:

A silly headcannon of mine is I imagine Dragonflies have a particular delicacy they like to eat in particular, those being sproutrocks. Sproutrocks fit a lot of their characteristics (especially the fact that it is a tree that is literally Burning inside, and DFlies internal heat is probably well above the range of heat required to crack a sproutrock open). This is why I imagine it drops gems on death, and why the scaled furnace is the most practical way to break them long term that isn’t a magma pool (which, ironically, is also where DFly in DST is).

Wormwood is far more intelligent and mature than he seems, it's just that speaking and language don't come naturally to someone as alien as him.

Tons of them actually (I refer to them all as being AU though as i don't want to piss off the canon-sticking people and because i know most of them don't make "SENSE" [but I can't say no to spontanious ideas!] ) sadly this thread just came at a time where I am not really able to decide what and how to write any of it down.
