zealyahweh
I'm using a very common heat-insulated airlock like this: sometimes I see gas in the middle of the airlock. but I have no idea where it comes from, so I have to set up a mech door to remove the gas manually. here is another sample: I'm pretty sure it was a vacuum as I set it up, just I don't care about the temperature in the chlorine room so I left the gas there. any idea where the gas come from and any way I could fix it? blakemw
Carbon Dioxide can be from Dupes cheekily breathing oxygen from one side and exhaling CO2 on the other side. Things that outgas are another possibility, if you don't have 1.8kg+ of liquid in the bottom too. degr
1. Somebody carry hot debris, which transform water into steam, and next moment steam was transformed back to water; 2. Somebody carry solid oxygen and it was transformed into gas oxygen Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160059-heat-insulate-airlock-leak/#findComment-1751674 Share on other sites
asurendra
Low mass liquid locks arent stable. Sometimes game just moves them for some weird reason. If you want 100% reliability, you need two full 1000kg T-locks with vacuum between them Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/160059-heat-insulate-airlock-leak/#findComment-1751697 Share on other sites
NewWorldDan
There's usually an explanation if you spend enough time looking for it. Broken pipes/gas pipes, oxylite, something temporarily disrupts your liquid blobs, construction (replacing a tile). I generally just don't trust a single blob of liquid, there's too many things that can go wrong. zealyahweh
I added another mercury drip in the center of the airlock, ran for another 100 days and the leak never happened again. I'm doing this because I have similar setups all around my base and some of the airlocks that I forgot to mop the central drip never leak. can't explain this but at the time the airlock is working well. BTW I've played this game for thousands of hours, it doesn't look to me that some "normal" reason like oxylite causes the leak, as you can see the stable in the screenshot, the only thing that goes through the airlock is dupes doing groom errands. Jorge Junior
It will be much better if you eliminate the remaining center air and use ceramic insulite tile. It probably is due to dupes dropping outgassable debris and then picking them up again after they've outgassed, but before you notice. The droplet in the middle, provided it is more than 1.8 kg, will totally suppress such outgassing. Some bugs (not sure if they are fixed now) with gases are known to occur on loads.
