I've started to have fun again

Basically I just want to share my recent expierence) Maybe you can share yours.

I've decided to play as Warly because he seems interesting and I don't really have long-term survival expierence with him. Also, I decided to spice my playthrough by making rifts opened from the start.

I wanted to rush the ruins but not for tulecite. My goal was hunger-belt. Aaaaand it was hilarios.

- first time I've just crafter armor, prepared lots of food and went for slurpers, when ickers jumped at my head and luckly they haven't killed me, but my backpack with food and ingridients was stolen. I've tried to fight for it but they regen. I run for bunnies help, brought 4 but... it wasn't enough and my weapons broke. I've starved literally there lol.

- second time I've decided to be more careful and walk on the edges but then the trio appeared and started chasing me. I had no armor. I was running for my life when icker just jumped on my head and killed me.

- third time... I've tamed a beefalo, but when I came to slurpers, the acid rain started and I had no any protection so I went outside. 

Currently the winter came, I still don't have my hunger belt. I burned the deerclopse corpse to avoid it's turning into the lunar version. My garden is in constant risk of lunar inhabitants. But at least I'm alive lol. Also I've tried to summon rabbit king to trade with him so I could tame rabits in caves easier, but each time I summonned it it was rabis rabbit and it chased me almost killing (luckly I have a reeds trap so I lured him there both times).I think he was angry because I had meat food but anyway that was unexpected and funny.

That's it, I recommend to start the game with rifts open for more hazards)

I've just realized that we probably find hard survival time more enjoyable than boss rushes) How about team up in the most hursh enviroment we can create, sir Wes?

hahaha, you misunderstand x''D i said i turn them up, i never said i am any good at surviving, hahahaha my long-term world is littered with life amulets for a reason! i adore playing with others but you would be sad having to tolerate how much bone-broth i would supply you with

Aways wondered if starting with rifts is fun or even balanced to start since lunar gear is so strong, so far i've beaten only celestial champion and early game often feels dragged for me so i started to find the game less fun for it, nothing comes to you, you have to rush everthing to get some decent gear, world gen sometimes kick our balls(looking at you trash deciduous and spider quarry) and every update adds literally nothing early on as well, maybe i should give this a try..

It's harder especially caves which means no early ruins. Above I would say that you should be more cautious with glass rain but other staff is doable and even helpful, for expample Armored Bearger easily clears the Bee Queen, and lunar plants you can actually control. I suppose the most difficult run I could imagine would be caves only with open rifts (so no beefalos to avoid ickers, and you have to find healing salves early on to protect yourself from acid.

Anyway compared to opening rifts once you have access to late game gear, I find no-gear run much more funnier) I wish to see someone struggling with such start on youtube haha

Yes, he actually added a spice to the playthrough cause I was motivated to retrieve a hunger belt

Yesterday I've discovered several more fun stuff:

1. lunar frog rain killed dragonfly. Dragonfly, thank you for 120 frog legs, they'll become a gunpowder soon!

2. My farm was absolutely occupied by Brightshades, and w/o late game equipment I was solving this issue with regular boomerangs + volt goat jelly. Warly chef skills are great.

3. Mimics actually tricked me in the dark, I lost tam-o-shanter and a hambat while trying to resolve my inventory issues in the dark lol. Caves are brutal.

We all know we got a lot of complaining but slowly Klei is doing it. For the ones who was craving for more challanges and a hard time, the rifts really did came up to fill the task. Its hard, dude. Doing cave cores got and extra oomph in the difficulty. They nailed, its back to the old days with spear and log suit experience again. The feeling is there. 

I got a greathest depht worm in my AG fight and had the brilliant idea to go back to the maze. Wrong. Made it even worse to fight. The ornery chests can be a pain if u get a lot going, like acid rain and insanity/dweelers. Hapilly a proud beefalo tamer otherwise the ICkers would end with my career. IDK dude feels like caves is super hostile again and I do ruins rush for breakfast, it was just default gameplay with like a whole another level bellow this. Really enjoying to be with my ears up for danger and risk again. We playing a surival game after all. 

And the best part - this all comes after killing end bosses so the experience for the newcomers in the game still the same without getting any harsher cuz already is a lot for the people to catch up. Like, it is progression. If u willing to have new challanges after killing the end bosses its not a "now what" situation anymore.

For me is the funnier because how you get a reward for interacting with more variety of content like fishing or farming. Also being limited in healing in the first days is really fun and makes you think about underused recipes or healing items (for me is kinda stale doing ruins rush with mushrooms...)
