Ink rictus as new sanity encounter for caves

I think they spawning from dreadstone outcrops is missing potential 

It creates the problem of making the encounter with the ink trio less frequent.

The becoming an optional encounter is bland and boring.

The stealth mechanic fits for a mob that attacks the player when insane not when is close to a dreadstone outcrop. Is something that feels like the cthulhu mythos theme of shadows

The bite atack when they are hidden could a wonderful insanity status.

Right now the only way to farm dark tatters is to go out of our way and find a fissure. By adding rictus to the insanity mechanic we will have a more natural way of getting a little of these materials

Too punishing, while I wouldn't be against more nightmare creatures they would need to be tuned according to the current ones so this quite bad of an idea.

Not everyone has thousands of  hours on DST, newer players won't have a way to deal with this mob. You can say that they only spawn after rifts are turned on but public endless servers with rifts on are already quite empty and newer players avoid them after dying to brightshades a couple of times.

Also, I don't want to have to carry items that can reveal it all the time.

Sanity is one of the three stats that you have to manage so it needs to be easy.

i never said to keep them as they are now. Kitting their stealth mechanic is so easy

they can find a new server instead of joining a 10k days server lmao

i guess you dont want to bring eyebrella, thermal stone or any other survival related item....

this only would affect the caves, just manage your sanity or stay in the surface. Caves shouldnt be as easy as surface gameplay

It is easy but you have to do it for a long time when you don't have a way to reveal them and this is annoying.

10k? Rifts can be opened in first 100 days by most experienced players. Just because endless server I play on has 1-5k days it doesn't mean that I don't want new players to join.

I already responded to this in your other thread but I'll bring up another point, we have too many survival/forced mechanics upon us already for new ones to get added old ones would need to be removed. You can't have more detrimental seasonal effects without tweaking the ones we currently have, its not like every player only wants to be pushed towards survival mechanics they have to deal with all the time.

So your solution is to tell players not to base in caves? Why should you be the one to decide that? That is a whole shard that we are hosting that takes pc resources that we should only visit when we want ruins or shadow rift gear? Caves are already very punishing to base in because you don't have daylight except in some specific parts mostly marsh biome and there is a permanent sanity drain.

sure, super punishing. CC crown exists, base as much as you want in the caves like i did and you wont suffer from insanity lol

It is leaning more towards sandbox for like 5 years or longer, survival isn't really the main focus and it won't change now.

Using enlightened crown and backpack so there is no armor and crown light ability is based on your sanity which will be lowered quite fast because of its second ability to summon gestalts.

??? how do you drop your sanity by simply staying in the caves basing??? why do you need armor all the time????? wth?

New players? My brother in Christ, this is post rifts content, this is HARD MODE. If you've gotten this far, you can handle some guy biting you for 20 damage when you stand still for too long.
