Lurking Nightmares are incredibly overtuned.

Does that even matter? I mean Klei has to be smart enough to release their content OUTSIDE of a limited and small fraction of players in a Beta onto a Public branch across all console platforms so they can get feedback from a large group of players right??

yes? like....of course the words of someone who played and tested said things have way more weight then someone that has not tested anything of it

that’s not what I meant.

People who Test are usually only testing to find and fix bugs, that is it.. that’s pretty much all they have a beta process stage for.

The public branch is where they release new mobs and hazards and allow ALL players to play around with and test that content, and then adjust it for the necessary tweaks after its release later.

I have a serious issue with Rabbit King for Solo or small group play, there are several reasons for this..

#1 it can be summoned by shoving 10 carrots in any random rabbit den hole. and if killed, can be respawned every 5 minutes.

#2 Endlessly spawns 3 minions who protect it and make the fight difficult.

#3 it NEVER drops Aggro, it will follow you to the ends of the earth and back.. him and his 3 Enforcer buddies.

The mob your complaining about- Only spawns in a specific location in the caves intended to be harder to access areas not meant for newbie players, and it can only spawn during that areas Nightmare phase..

Its a powerful mob, sure… but you kinda “asked for it” if your in that area of the world???

Just like waking up the sleeping centipede husks in the archives is “asking for it..”

But the Rabbit King? That thing is Worse than summon using the Terrarium to spawn EoT/ToT every 20 days.

this is a bit confusing... your issue with rabbit king is he can be fought too often but the fight is too hard...

and the boss latches aggro similar to a varg where it doesn't leave you be, when you are the one who picked the fight...

I want to understand where you're coming from but this doesn't make a lot of sense.

On the subject of the betas, I go to em' to see the fun new stuff that I waited 3 months for the release of, give constructive feedback where possible, and find any special use case's for the new content.

I think most player are enjoying the "Difficult" of Lurking Nightmare and Great Depth Worm which were added in this update.

What is unpopular is the "Unfairness", like "huge spike in difficulty".

Lurking Nightmare launches unfairly attacks on players before the lift that are impossible to avoid depending on the equipment, situation, and server ping, and the Great Depths Worm unfairly deals 392 instakill level damage to players, unfairly stunlocks players for 14xn damage, unfairly devours players' items, and unfairly destroys structures.

what do you mean by the Unfairness", like "huge spike in difficulty". you are going to the ruins not Disney land of course there will be spike of difficulties

1 no you can avoid it yes you can say if your ping is not that good u can't but that can be said to a lot of creatures

2 and what do you mean it's depends on the equipment you can dodge it's attack without a speed boost  and situation it's your problem if u put your self in a bad situation

3 from what I know the Worm can't even one shot you with that 392 damage just dodge it's attack or run and it only starts spawning only after day 25 so u will encounter it on day 36 probably because nobody is living in the cave while winter is going

Although the Varg doesn't teleport his hounds and himself to keep up, the hounds are much weaker, and the Varg can be fully distracted by something else hitting it. I think Rabid King has a very unique aggro.

people who test dont only look for bugs, they alsol do feedback and suggestions of how things could be better

and the new hazards and stuff are in the beta so i dont get what you mean

the rabbit king, is a....not so worth thing even doin and without lookin it up you probably dont even know how to spawn it, like who would even think of wasting 10 carrots to a hole? and not only that....YOU chose to engage with it meanwhile the shadow chocses when to engage you....and then some more shadows at once...maybe even its self too....wich we had allready said is not very balanced even if its alone especialy in a server you are not the host from, random lag can be way to deadly for that thing alone, and his counter attack was not needed and only a time waster....alsol wow way to much hp like please, why so much?

A beta is for a small group of players to test something to find bugs, to report glitches, to stress test multiplayer servers etc, before releasing that to a large group of players on the public branch.

I played the closed Alpha, the closed Beta, and the Open Beta for several games so I’m well aware of what they’re used for.

The thing with Klei though is they’re just a tiny bit different, their “Betas” are released on PC because PC does not have the same Certification processes that PlayStation, Xbox & Nintendo would have (it remains to be seen if DST Netflix mobile will have betas or not..) They do their Betas on PC because it’s easier to patch or change things without the certification process getting in the way for every minor change or tweak they want to make.

However- Because of that… they’re also not getting nearly enough feedback from any of their players OUTSIDE Of PC, Say what you want to say but Xbox & PlayStation versions both suffer with server connection issues and crashes because they don’t have nearly enough players testing on those specific platforms (and not on a PC using a console controller during Beta) to notice and have these issues addressed before releasing the updates to a public branch.

With all that said- had Klei listened only to Beta Feedback, then they wouldn’t have more detailed feedback from players outside of beta- such as for example, how much the mobs animations lag spike the game on a Nintendo Switch, or how many players struggle with X thing, or how underperforming Y thing is.

Instead of making all the changes during PC Beta testing, it is far better and far more accurate testing to release to public across all platforms and make the necessary tweaks afterwards.

Otherwise- We end up with cases where console players never even got to give their voice on how X felt, before it was changed to X 2.5 during beta.

With this new mob available to everyone they can get the feedback like- “Way too much HP” “Lags the Nintendo Switch to Unplayable levels” “More Difficult to fight with a PS5 Controller” ETC..

And Klei can make all the necessary adjustments with proper levels of feedback.

Im pretty certain (or at least I hope they are anyway) that Klei devs are releasing all content updates for DST, while also keeping in the back of their mind that- “We know the game is about to be on mobile devices with Netflix Games, we probably need to be sure if adding this still makes the game function without exploding people’s cellphone devices”

so you wanted to tell me that it is illigal to give suggestions and feedback for a thing just because only some people have accress to it.....yea ahm no
