Give the item a nice corruption/lunar effect and have at it. A weapon like the Thulecite club has a unique mechanic to it that could be improved if turned into a lunar weapon; a Hamtbats infinite usage wouldn't be that big of a deal with the repair kits now existing but could be an option for people who don't want to use their repair kits. Morning star emits light, they all have unique effects that would justify them being able to be turned into planar weapons.
