Should some of the new loot be added to the Klaus loot pool?

As the title inquires, should some of the new loot be added to Klaus drops? I think it'll be cool to add some drops from the new rabbit king or if rifts are open (before killing Klaus) perhaps some tatters or a pure horror. If Enraged Klaus is killed maybe add a chance to drop a possessed atrium. 

Slightly off topic but is Klaus considered shadow aligned?

Klaus drops most boss loot and blueprints from raid bosses and misc rare mob loot items in general is good enough imo. I don't think it would make sense to need Klaus to drop pure horror for any reason, even tatters is a bit of a stretch. 

Maybe if Rift content comes along and upgrades Klaus fight then I'd be okay with something cool from him in general not just tatters and fuel.

Good points I just feel the drops of Klaus need a bit of an overhaul and more of a reason to kill the Enraged version of him.

There's no reason because the intended mechanic and challenge is not killing the deer. I don't think anyone would bother unless it has cracked loot anywats.

That'd be so funny if a gestalt brought him back again after the amulet. But i don't think they would make a raidboss stronger.

They can simply make it 8k or 10k hp again... wouldnt be that bad considering we have more damage

I can see it as a very late game boss. Also imagine a half shadeling corrupted half gestalt posessed Klaus. He can use both powers like how he can use both freezing and burning attacks.

I'm in favor of changing Loot Stash contents, but it shouldn't be that way.
First, Klaus' Berserk mode should be a punishment rather than a challenge, preventing the player from avoiding either of the usual attacks or killing him by using other creatures. Therefore no special reward should be introduced in that case. (Like when you try to kill an enemy with fire, you don't get most of the loot.)
Second, Loot Stash items tend to be regular Giant feature drops or other high value items, so you don't have to repeatedly kill familiar or hard-to-find bosses. But this doesn't include obvious factions or more distinctive bosses, So you'll find no Ancient Guardian, Ancient Fuelweaver, Celestial Champion, Eye Of Terror, twins, or Misery Toadstool spoils, And the Shadow Atrium. Therefore, loot that has faction characteristics after Ancient Fuelweaver or Celestial Champion is not suitable for joining. (For the same reason, Klaus shouldn't fall into either camp.)
Third, there is a correlation between these items: Pure Brilliance and Pure Horror, Brightshade Husk and Dark Tatters, all of which are currently paired as much as possible. So if Dark Tatters are going to join the Loot Stash, so should the Brightshade Husk. This will dramatically change the distribution of spoils. At the same time, for many players, these items are often not valuable enough to make the player willing to kill a powerful Santa Claus to obtain - in fact, many players now have many ways to produce an absolute surplus of these four items. Also, don't forget that each Loot Loot in Loot Stash is not plural, which means it won't be "some tatters", it will be "1 tatter" - which is why many players don't want to find Down Feather in Loot Stash.

To sum up, adding a Planar theme to the Loot Stash of material should not be appropriate or welcome. But adding Rabbit King themed items should work.

Personally, I want Loot Stash to remove Steel Wool, Lavae Egg, Desert Stone, Mandrake and Spiderhat, Join the Glass Spike, Bootleg Getaway, Sea Sprout Starter, and Crab King Bumper Kit, Pan Flute, and Fortuitous Rabbit.

Specifically, I want to replace mandrakes with pan flutes. In a sense, they are equivalent for the player, but the latter is not food - I don't have to worry about it being eaten by some weird guy who makes me sleep on the street.

Because I'd rather have Bee Queen Crown, Shroom Skin or Scales.
In fact, since I had so much fun at Winter's Feast, and now I have a dozen Pan Flutes, and I can't find the time to use them at all, maybe I should suggest that klei plant Mandrake in Replica Relic Vase.

If he drops malbatross bill he should drop bootleg getaway as well, and maybe blueprints from scrappy/nightmare werepig. It would make sense to get dreadstone and pure horror from it because they are part of nightmare werepig's table, as well as scraps, but it would probably clutter the loot table a bit too much. 

Related: I always wanted to see walrus tusks as a part of Klaus's loot table because they are highly valuable items and it would be great for multiplayer. Especially since other non-boss drops (mandrakes, tallbird eggs, steel wool) are already part of the loot table.

I'm not super sure why we bother to kill Klaus anymore. It's just too random what you get, and the malbatross bill is usually the highlight of the possible drops for me.

Tusks are also a welcoming change as mentioned. If the rifts are open it being a bit more randomized would be a plus over the usual coal/life giving amulets that are usually given in 3 out of 4 gifts. He's an unaligned  teleporting imp with a seemingly infinite storage... It's not far-fetched that he'd have more random high tier or obscure loot in his pool.

I kill him for the wax paper. This is why I usually skip killing Klaus with winter's feast enabled.

I believe the gifts could go with multiple tiers of random items which are of equal value.

Why does the boss wrap drop ewecus wool, desert stone, tallbird egg or royal jelly?

Ewecus isn't a boss, desert stone can be farmed in infinite amounts in exchange for eggs and tallbird egg and royal jelly are just food.

And 1 moosegoose feather is probably the biggest troll loot in existence.

 

We could have those items in the loot pool but make them separate from boss loot. Same with blueprints of all kinds.

For some people a blueprint drop could be the highlight of the klaus kill if they don't need to fight bee queen because they got the bundling wrap for free. But there are also moments when you get excited that a blueprint fell out of the bundle and then it's only for a toad lamp for which you don't have the skin to make it or scaled furnace for which you're missing a scale.

 

Ofc klaus shouldn't only give out riches. The lower tier items could roll 50% with the current coal bundles. i'm also asking myself if a Klaus kill should give 2 amulets and more than half of the ingredients to make a 3rd one?

I'd like to see the loot table expanded as well. Stuff like frostjaws bootsgetaways, crab king bumper kit and blueprints from ancient guardian and nightmare werepig is all new stuff that wasn't in the game when the loot table for klaus was designed.

And also what's the most important for me and probably a lot of other players is scrappy werepigs auto-mat-o-chanic. Any other loot from him is trash literally but a repaired wobot many days before celestial champion is killed (if the group gets there at all) is something people would want for their base.

You forgot Mandrake.

There's also Spiderhat, which isn't really a … proper-BOSS drop in the DST. Unlike other loot bosses, Spider Queen has no sculpture or Magnificent Adornment.

Well, the Tallbird Egg is supposed to be an insurance policy in case someone destroys their all Tallbird Nests altogether.

Royal Jelly is a Bee Queen themed loot, which itself is equivalent to three Jellybeans, one of the best restorative potions in the game.

Desert Stone is an Antlion themed loot, but it's a bad choice.   I think Glass Castle or Glass Spike would be more appropriate, after all, they must be acquired in a battle with Antlion, instead of a trade.   (A similar situation applies to Down Feather, but I have no idea.)

Tumbleweed exist, pearl bundles exist and underwater salvageable or sunken chests exist. Especially for sunken chests I'm not sure why we have to get our world littered with gold picks when people rock the brightshade smasher late in the game? With rifts open you want a harder pick than the gold one and every single chest seems to drop one or sometimes even 2.

I personally like salves better. Ofc it's personal preference and because of that it's just food to me that dropped.

I don't get glass castle or glass spike. If we gonna add similar stuff that we could get from a potters wheel we might as well add figure sketches to the loot table? The king one is very limited and only exists like one time at most on the map.

Mandrake has very limited uses and can be eaten by other creatures, and I don't know what to do with it once I have too much, so I can't even consider it a reward.

Mini giants - not bosses - also include Treeguar and Lord of the Fruit Flies, who apparently have no part in the Loot Stash. Spiderhat itself is also an item that is easy to get but not often used, and many players don't like it.

I've always felt that the Opulent Pickaxe, as well as the Thermal Stone, are actually remnants of past versions used to fill the Sunken chests, and they really should be considered for modification.

It's really weird, it is. In fact, I had a similar idea with Lavae Egg.

There may be other ways to get the egg, after all, Loot Stash isn't reliable enough if needed.

Jellybeans continuously restore health, which is actually useful in combat. As for salves, I've often seen it is dismissed as a joke and there aren't always that many Ashes and Rocks to spare for players to use. And then someone would say, "So why not cook a Pierogi?"

There is no glass made of sand in the game. Even if it does, it shouldn't be carved but fired -- so you need a kiln, not a Potter's Wheel.

Meanwhile, since Deerclops, Bearger, and Moose/Goose all have their counterparts in the Loot Stash, there's no reason Antlion shouldn't be among them. So we need to have the corresponding relevant items to put into it.

By the way, I have three Maxwell Statues in one of my maps, and when one of them was destroyed, I currently have four Kingly Figure sketches. In fact, you can continuously obtain a Figure Sketch of a piece by opening Tumbleweed, as long as the corresponding Statue has been mined. So it might be better to drop a half-finished Marble Sculpture or Maxwell Statue instead of a Figure Sketch, and I prefer to put these into the extra Gift for Winter's Feast, along with the Electric Milk.

Well, if I was going to domesticate a beefalo, I'd kill a few Ewecus early on in order to make a War Saddle. Maybe what I need more is a Walrus Tusk.

With 1 goose feather, you can craft a practical rain rituals book using a construction amulet before the first spring as Wickerbottom. I'm not a fan of the rain, so even in all other circumstances where the feather sucks to get, I would be disappointed if it was removed from the drop pool.
