Bunnymen have extremely low HP for pure combat minions. Perhaps now is the perfect time to increase it?

The only thing bunnymen can do as hireable creatures is fight but they have extremely low HP.

200 to be precise. Only double that of a basic spider or bee. And 50 less than a pig.

yes they retreat and heal when low (roughly 8hp/5sec) but this isnt worth much.

Bunnymen are also the most expensive sentient biped to hire considering they require carrots specifically. Once u run out of free carrots u must farm to get more or wait for world regen…or kill bunnymen

With the addition of the Rabbit king and a bunnyman-specific one-man-band now might be the perfect time to increase their HP and make them more usable.

I think doubling it to 400 would be a good start.

Remember bunnymen are a normal mob too when balancing them so increasing hp might be annoying.

I feel like they are the only balanced follower (i grew to not like Merms since they basically never die and have basically zero resource cost. Pigmen underrated but gimmicky and niche. Spiders are unbalanced in a way that makes them lose their strategy potential since spitters are supreme), i just wished AOE bosses they made at least an ok impact.

Maybe just double the loyalty for each carrot, and a way to make giving bunny's armour a not complete waste of resources. (Make them lose 75% less durability on them or something to compensate for them taking extra damage from bosses)

Bunnymen are the strongest minion in the game that aren't post-skill tree Wurt merms. Their low HP is balanced out by the fact that

1. They can be given head armor. Even just football helmets increases their effective HP 5-fold.

2. They're the only hunchback mobs stupid enough to not try fail to kite whatever they're attacking (and miserably at that). giving them a much, much higher effective DPS than pigmen or regular merms.

Any boss that doesn't rely on spamming AOE damage becomes exponentially easier the more bunnymen you have helping you. And even ones that do use constant AOE can still have chunks taken out of their health bar before the bunnymen attacking them go down. The only buffs you could reasonably argue they need are

A. Reducing the carrot cost to build their hutches. Bunnymen used to drop 2 carrots when killed before getting nerfed in Reap What You Sew, which made it much easier to build up your bunny hutches.

B. Adding a post-rift battle standard item that replaces part of their damage with planar-damage.

I think bunnymen are fine. I just lose my mind when trying to gather Bunny Pufts. I understand the nerf since they were so easy to amass for food but could the loot be what it is currently with an additional 50% chance to drop another Puft? Would make it less aggravating. This was done with Cookie Cutters and it is awesome. I use those helmets all the time now.
