of course the animations may look bad. its a beta.
rabbit king stuff might stink! its an early game thing!!
the beardlord stuff from rabbit king will be changed.
fishing rods and nets cost like 2 silk. it would be nice if there *was* a rift upgrade but its really not the end of the world
hopefullyyyy the team agrees on better atrium finding and the removal of void walking may not be as big of a deal.

I just really hate to see how much petty arguments, destructive criticism, and how defensive some can get at any disagreement here. I really love this game but this is just not it guys. Its fine to complain about new beta stuff, thats the point, but why can't we be productive with actual criticism instead of asking for a straight removal of hard work.

love ya klei, yall cool

not all critism is bad I mean look at this:

"e been playing this game for seven years and am a big fan but and I'm really genuinely sorry to say this but this might be the most disappointing the most useless and overall the most nothing update ever.

Not only it's more "post finale boss stuff" wich I and a lot more others aren't a big fan of since it's just so out of place in a game like dst. But also this update was announced to be a cave update that would add more challenges and new rewards to the caves and it's like 3 notable but extremely minor additions. After the announcement I was really expecting the caves to be a place to go other than to just loot the ruins and escape the summer heat.

These couple of updates been really disappointing lately other than some additions and it really worries me. I hope dst returns to it's former exciting and unique ways as soon as possible.

And just wanna say this is my personal opinion so no death threats please"

exactly why i said *destructive* criticism! thats GOOD criticism! maybe tone down on the "useless' thing but yay!

What's so wrong bout asking for a better bug net man. Hammer costs 6 grass, 3 rocks and 4 twigs.

Mind you, a late-game better bug net will be just the same (if not better) as a late-game better hammer, which we got via the Smasher. Even many people agree to make it a combo tool with fishing rod. And the shadow side deserves to have some useful utility tools, don't you think?

I feel like the biggest issue is the fact you're using a hammer alot more than like, pond fishing or catching bugs. theres nothing wrong with it but you're honestly kinda proving my final notes aswell

catching bugs

You gotta need 2 nets just for catching moongleams for (re)fighting Celestial Champion. For megabasers to have a sustainable area where glowcaps can cover their bases and needing a permanent light structure, or for elastispacers? PLENTY.

Spoiler

I still never opened the Rifts for the first time and evading as possible all spoilers....... but man I know what is about. Why they put it in dst....It's so bad. Like the new shadow for the Ruins. What's the reason to put it after the Rifts....and not before?????? Since you know, Ruins are even in a worse state than caves. There is absolutely zero, and I repeat zero motives, to not have put it before, in the Cave update, and give just a little fixing of the Ruins.

While the posts appear to assume that things aren't placeholder there is no one to verify whether they are, so there is some value in being "redundant" for feedback that might otherwise be missed.

Nah bro rabbit king is the GOAT of this update:

- Cute af

- Trades you a "shadow chest" that is cheap as hell to stack and isn't locked behind a specific character (Maxwell)

- Carrot coat could have its uses if u find a rabbit village on caves or build one on the surface(I can see some people using it to **** on Bee Queen and Dragonfly lmao)

- Protects his kingdom (he can spawn aggresive if u kill many rabbits/bunnymen, basically a krampus for rabbits)

- Based Jackie chan kicks

The caves has so much nothing that it rivals the ocean's empty space.

Along with that theres just a lot of copy paste resources you can find on the surface, like grass, twigs, the horrible swamp that doesnt even have merms, guano cave, 3  mushrooms from trees that are only renewable by strangling o'l fuelweaver.

In addition to that, still no solution to making finding the atrium less annoying.

Most of this update is so far:

- Rabbit king (found on the surface) that couldve been an underground bunnyman ruler.

- ~10 items (3 of which have a really dumb use).

- removal of void walking for a (now decent bridge) mechanic

- a worm boss that, despite being really cool to fight, currently doesn't drop anything of value unless you're a solo wormwood or warly.

- Shadow things that still only drop pure horror (the icker atleast might drop something new later.)

- Beefalo items that are honestly fine

- A boomerang that is basically a better howlitzer in my opinion

- A shadow axe that's really op

This update remedied only a little bit of the problems the caves have, while leaving the biggest issue (imo) of how many of the resources can be found in the easier to travel on surface.
