The new saddle should have knockback immunity

I used to be desperate for a Knockback Immunity saddle but tbh maybe it shouldn’t happen, it’s a combat saddle so as long as the beefalo’s obedience is high enough you can remount a beefalo that’s aggro. It provide a higher skill ceiling for a playstyle that’s generally very safe, and would encourage players to bring speed boosting items to quickly catch up with their beefalo, or the pan flute to pause the fight. The new saddle also helps a lot with this by providing planar defense so your cow isn’t totally screwed when fighting a planar entity.

My suggestion is that the new Void Saddle should have some storage, like the Donkeys and Mules in Minecraft. Not everyone will want to save scum w/ Rollbacking to get a Krampus Sack, so I think the Void Saddle getting some Storage on the go would be a nice change, instead of being a retextured Battle Saddle with Planar stuff and nothing else.

While i agree that knockback is dumb and saddles should get some resistance (at leas wigfrid's and shadow) you gotta aknowledge that the new saddle itself comes with a hidden feature:

-Shadow saddle allows you to remount the beefalo even if the beefalo is agroed and engaged with the boss/mob.  it's not entirely what we want with the knockback but it's a workaround in any case. however i'd still like to at least th rift one to have knockback resistance .

I thought the War and Battle Saddles also had this mechanic?

If this is on a war saddle it's useless anyhow because obedience is 45% and you have to feed your beef to ride it. It will be too "busy" aggroing on the monster to be fed and remounted. Since this is a post-rift item that also requires a freaking heart I hope Klei at least fixes these things and adds some knockback immunity mechanic. Otherwise it's yet another late / end-game item that does too little too late for 95% of the player base. I mean, how hard is it to even add a life bar to fully tamed beefalo for us console players who can't add any mods to improve the QoL. 

despite not using beefalo i agree! the saddle is literally modeled after the nightmare throne so why not give it the shadowy stuff that keeps it down on it? Unsure how beefs will deal with knockback otherwise though. Perhaps something like moose where you get a bit knocked backwards without being stunned?

Feed it fully before going into battle. The obedience should stay above 50% for a long time even if you get hit a lot.

Steamed twigs before the fight, two if you're gonna heal mid fight, three if not. A few cut grass/light bulbs as well like maybe 5 to 6, to ensure obedience is max. Twigs can work, but light bulbs and cut grass are optimal since the first gives no hunger gives very little so the beef won't puke (as its hunger will already be pretty high from the steamed twigs) or just tame a normal beefalo.

I personally went through a little mini arc with crockpots. Needing them to cook healing. To not needing them because beefalo, to realizing that beefalo's hunger is pretty important to maintain during fights.

I like the Shadow Saddle, but something like this would be nice. It's pretty expensive, needing an atrium, so yea. It just being planar stuff is weird.
