AuRuS
I'm somewhat of a megabase building beginner and currently I'm having a bit of a problem with bees inside my base, is there a way to keep them inside the walls? They sometimes seem to bypass the collisions and fly all around the place, especially in spring, switching twig fences to stone walls didn't help much there And one more thing, I'm trying to automate farming the ruins with anenemy traps, is there a way to pinpoint exactly where the bishops/rooks spawn on certain setpieces? I've been screenshoting the game before killing them and then putting the traps somewhat close to their spawn (not too close however as they might dig them up at spawn) but I can't know for sure if that is the correct position, any ideas? ChintzyGnat
I dont think you can fix the bee thing, that is generally why bees are somewhat far away from base in mega bases. Screenshots are the best way unless you memorize their set peice generation and where they spawn. lowercase skye
Flying mobs (and shadow creatures) will entirely ignore walls if there's no gap for them to pathfind through, but if there IS a gap then they will respect that and only ever fly through that gap rather than over the walls. For example if that gate was open they would ONLY ever leave through the gate and not fly over the walls. You could maybe try leaving that entrance open and then planting more flowers outside to attract them all to one spot, but overall if they're right in the middle of your base like this they're kind of going to be a menace that's hard to control. Lovens
Another option for ruins farming: you can just opt to relocate your clockworks into less populated ruins areas and reset their anchor points. To do this, put them to sleep or freeze, then lure them away one by one and disconnect. When you connect to the game again clockworks that have been relocated will consider their new locations "home" and won't try to return to their own spawns. You then wall off the area where you parked them and never ever kill them again. When you reset the ruins, all enemies and structures regenerate but the enemies that weren't killed won't regenerate. I freed all rooms around thulesite stations and statues and I only clear these, ignoring any broken clockworks and regular clockworks. The loot I miss on is not too useful for the time invested in it. I still have a lot of frazzled wires and gears from my first ruins clears, and dfly supplies me with enough gems of all kinds. Bonus points is that I was able to decorate my ruins a bit and make it look pretty. I use sweet taffy to mine the entire ruins and it takes me two of them - one for military and one for sacred, so I'm usually done with it in one day. Two if I stay there during nm phase to farm nm fuel. Frosty_Mentos
Since recent update - you can now place a lot more flowers, so it might keep your bees busier. I would also take that advice for keeping less bees to not escape as much. Extimous
Bees typically don't fly over walls or fences unless they are trying to specifically path-find to something on the other side of the fence. Since it's spring in that screenshot they will fly over walls to attack something and stay on that side of the wall, but at dusk they should return to their hive. Sapientis
Bees cannot be fully walled in or they just fly over the fence. You can try making a loong spiral corridor (similar to some Bee Queen's Grumble Bees ones) so they don't leave their intended place. With Anenemies try taking screenshots with many tiles of fine grid in geometric placement along with displayed turf tiles (e.x. F3 in ActionQueue RB2) They should be placed approximately 2.5 fine grids from spawn center. This is an image I use (stolen from someone on the forums years ago).
