Nightmare targeting

Recommended Posts

I'm so happy klei fixed alot of the combat bugs but one side effect of it is actually horrible.

When attacking more than 1 nightmare your character always targets the same one wether its infront or behind a current nightmare. Meaning you will be walking into a nightmare and basically get hit for free because your targeting the one that just teleported behind it.

I just hope there is a possible way of fixing this (or someone will tell me how to get good idk)

Not sure if that's the answer you need, but as long as you exit the attacking state to do anything else like taking the slightest step manually, you will no longer be suggested to keep on attacking the same target. Then you can attack again and it should be the closest shadow and not the previous one.

Are you on console or PC?

On console targeting got really ****** up with the scrappy update, especially because you can't force attack. Or technically everything is always force attack. Its stupid because we will get stuck the same way you do, but, but then sometimes also randomly switch targeting and get stuck attack walls or beefalo.

Regardless the issue remains, you get stuck targeting one thing. This makes opening chests, going into wormholes or caves, feeding beefalo etc incredibly difficult. Controller spiking levels of frustration.

Not sure what you play. Try force attack on PC.  If on console the only work around (with its own set of issues) is using target lock. Does PC have an auto lock feature?
