SamLogan
Hello, Even if the new opportunity to create Snow with the Ice Maker is really cool, the result in game is the machine don't produce enough Snow to an acceptable ratio. 1. Produce Snow with Ice Maker: is it a good idea? Pros: Ice can be grab with an arm. It's great to be able to create Snow. Cons: Arm can't deliver water bottle to the Ice Maker. The cost ratio watts / snow is not enough balance especially when 1 tree = 100Kg. The amount of heat produce is crazy but it can be managed with the water. Snow is created from air and water normally. From my test, here's what I have : 1 = 3 BONBON TREES My goal was to sustain 100 Trees (80 for 5 generators + 20 for carrots). I've create a micro base for 2 Duplicants who create snow all day long. 16 Ice Maker so 4000 Watts (wtf), I manage DTU with the cold salt water. Here's how much trees I can sustain : The bottom room is the wood farm (100 trees). The top room is my Spigot seal ranch (7 trees). My 16 Ice Maker can only sustain the half of my farm (around 40-45 trees) and almost at 100% uptime the ranch. But It cost a lot of electricity, 2 Duplicants only on this task, etc. So to sustain 5 generators, I need to setup 32 Ice Maker (8000 Watts) and have 4 Duplicants, totally cazy compare to the "normal" trees. Conclusion: I feel the possibility to create Snow is cool, but it asks a huge room for a small result. 2. Snow Gun: a way to create a large amount of snow with the real recipe This recipe uses a large amount of oxygen and a small amount of water, which reflects the realistic needs for producing artificial snow. The addition of ice helps to maintain the low temperatures necessary for snow formation. Using these flow rates, you will be able to effectively produce 450 kg of snow in 60 seconds while balancing the resources used. The realistic ratios for snow cannons typically involve approximately 5% water and 95% air (oxygen). This means for every kilogram of water, about 19 kilograms of air are required. Tigin
I'd probably use this in a feedback loop just to feed it back into a SPOM to convert 100% of water into hydrogen rather than its intended purpose :P Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/158110-new-building-snow-gun-experience-return-with-ice-maker-aka-snow-maker/#findComment-1734101 Share on other sites
asurendra
How hot was your initial water? Primalflower
How about an aquatic puft that breathes in water and creates snow?
