Keep the new crab king. It's a good fight. But after being victorious with the new crab king during rifts, add the phase 2. Phase 2 being the "Old" crab king.

 

Let him become mutated. Not dead, but mutated. And just recycle the old fight. I acknowledge the development that went into it, but at the stage of the game where crab king was to be undertaken relative accessibility of conventional tools to beat him, it seemed a little unreasonable. 

This way, development won't go to waste. 

 

and as a drop, Wagstaff can come by with a spark arc and a new recipe for a strident trident upgrade with as a spark ark craft which can cast different effects based on gems socketed into it, one of which, summons sea stacks.
