brucey42085
all of a sudden getting frequent, but slightly different, System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object crashes. Is the save this is happening on just cooked? 2tallyGr8
Were you using the frozen planet beta and then switch to SO only? If so, I had a similar issue with the spaced out alpha. brucey42085
nope, whole run on spaced out. started a new seed to see if it was just that save, it wasnt. over 300 hours in the game, never had a single crash before today, then literally at least a dozen today on old and new seeds. rage4198
then maybe delete temp files in appdata folder or verify files also you get the crash when you open the game or the save? if its the save try creating a new save your old one might be damaged Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157525-keep-getting-different-systemnullreferenceexception-object-reference-not-set-to-an-instance-of-an-object-crashes/#findComment-1729633 Share on other sites

6Havok9
@brucey42085I've seen this crash multiple times. No Frosty DLC, just spaced out. A way to recreate it reliably: activate debug instabuild (ctrl+F4) and click on an electric grill. Even got it on a fresh install without mods. By fresh I mean FRESH. I uninstalled, unsubscribed from all mods, deleted all mod and local config files, then reinstalled and started a new game. I've already sent an ingame report. I'm almost sure that I know why this is happening. But I didn't want to wait.. So I bought and installed the Frosty DLC. And guess what? It doesn't crash anymore! Now I'm quite upset because I didn't want to touch the Frosty DLC before I was done with my current run.
