Sailing is so fun now, thank you Klei

I don't have to worry about my boat being super fragile. The crab king bumpers are so good. The speed at which you can move and ignore the rocks you will hit is insane and soooo fun. Klei, you really cooked with this update.

Btw, what's the max speed? 2 sails or more?

Yea CK bumpers are so good :)

Max speed is limited to 10, to reach it you would need 4 malbatross sails. Each additional gets higher penalty because of that going more then 3 sails is a very small benefit, having at least 2 is always recommended.

Silly question, but do the speed values here mean the same as on land(6 being default player speed)? Or is it a different metric?

Did these get buffed? im pretty sure its specifically for crashing into land where they don't take any damage, they work the same as any other bumper against other objects.

Last time i check it's pretty good against objects too

They are durable, you would have to ignore them for them to break. You need some rocks to repair them and repair them often, but their repair ingredients are much cheaper than broken shells. It makes them the best bumper.

Ok yeah, 100% the health is great, why are the kelp and shell bumpers so flimsy???
Kelp cant even survive a single rock, Shell barely survives it, and Crabby just gets a small dent.
Think i remember why i never bothered using them.

Do appreciate the full land immunity tho, can just skip the anchoring and let the sails stop by unloading em.

I think damage is heavily dependent on your speed, so perhaps you could survive several hits with Shell ones and if you had Rudder ON all the time that should make them decent

I think kelp bumpers are convenient when you already have a transplanted kelp stack. Easy to make and I manage to avoid some patches that Wavey can abuse.
