Add unique art in skilltrees, not just for the "Special" characters

Recommended Posts

Wormwood and Winona have unique skilltree art in the background since they have unique lore/interactions with the affinities. Even add little drawings or mini notes done by the characters to add more personality, for example Wurt can have little doodles of merms on it.

But i think it is weird to just give these characters the special treatment. Characters like Woodie, Wurt, ect would be cool if they had some:

  • Woodie could have some trees in his skilltree art, where most his skills lie on. His lucy skills could be on a picture of lucy's axe which would be stuck inside one of those trees. His curses will be surrounded with a furry barrier with moose antlers, a beaver tail and goose wings.
  • Wurt's amphibian side would be under water with rain, some fish, sea weeds and bubbles. Her swamp side will have pictures of reeds, tentacles, mosquitos, ect. Even some childish doodles of merms and other swamp things she drew herself to add more personality.
  • Wolfgang will have weights, circus stuff, and gym equipment.
  • Wilson will have beakers and shelfs for his achemmy stuff. He will have a scruffy beard outline for his beard skills. A big torch for his torch skills, where his skills rest in the flame.
  • Willow will have lots of fire. Bernie will also have some sewing and stuffing.
  • Wigfrid will have weapon racks, musical notes, and some parts decorated with valkory wings.

This would be cool as it makes the characters trees much more personalised, rather than some characters looking like "normal characters" and some "special" because they have different skilltree art rather than the generic and basic one most have.

Art costs money, and it isn't a good idea to do too complicated art judging that the layout of the tree is volatile and will change and the squares can cover up art in the future.

Better keep that option open. The art team has plenty of work in this game anyway.

The only art that works for skill tree backgrounds is simple tile-like art that is resilient to being covered up.

I disagree. Thry seem keen on keeping the layout the same.
