JazzyGames
As the mechanics currently sit, bonded beefalo lose a substantial amount of protection against accidental attacks when they are not saddled. This means that when you are feeding an unsaddled beefalo with any tool or weapon equipped (including a walking cane), the default left-click action is "Attack." So there is a very real chance of accidentally hitting a beefalo after the food in your tooltip runs out which will cost 30% of its domestication. It is also possible to ctrl-attack a beefalo while it is unsaddled. This is possible even with fully-tamed, unsaddled beefalo. I am of the mind that any bonded beefalo - regardless of domestication level or saddle - should be afforded the same player protections as any other follower such as Glommer, Hutch, Chester, Friendly Fruit Fly, bunnymen, pigs, catcoons, rock lobsters, or merms. The only way to attack a bonded beefalo should be Ctrl-Left Click, same as other followers. Gotheran
I've noticed this as I've been attempting to tame one recently, I usually default to my weapon so when I hop off my spacebar action isn't to chop a tree or dig something up with another tool by accident and waste durability or uproot things i didn't want uprooted. Doesn't help that if you do this by accident while still near a herd of wild beefs they respond with the herd aggro Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/157035-bonded-beefalo-should-not-be-targeted-by-ctrl-attack/#findComment-1724439 Share on other sites
Lovens
Not to mention the potential intentional (and unintentional) griefing in multiplayer. I used to play on a server with a guy who was really bad at taming their beefalo and spent like 4 in-game years trying to tame one. He'd often not pay attention and his beefalo would drop its saddle while standing in the kitchen cooking with beefalo between crock pots. People would then accidentally click his beefalo instead of the crockpot because it just moved as someone was loading the crockpot and make him lose domestication. I accidentally attacked his beefalo once when his character afkes near the cave entrance and was killed by bats. Because the bats were aggroed on him I ctrl+f-ed them to save his character and my game targeted his beefalo instead which was of course unsaddled again.
