It is still a testing version (beta). So I brought it for demonstration and analysis.

I feel like it’s just an oversight due to the beta being so early in its release, this’ll definatly be patched before full release.

I think it's productive to show them during the beta. If it takes years to correct it, it creates a lot of problems on the forum.

Watching this video makes me wish Crab king rotated in circles atleast using his long claws to swat at the player every so often. 

Isn’t the Pearl supposed to account for all Gem colors? Where is the new icey island it’s supposed to spawn? I am so very confused…

But thanks for sharing these videos, these cheeses will be removed by the time Xbox gets to fight reworked crab.

You don't even need those, a few anchors or even just rowing would do. It's pretty obvious that klei designers forgot about basic sailing mechanics

you've seen and been told about several system improvements made to the game in this beta, i don't really see how unbelievable it is that this interaction failed to reach their gaze when the update was only receiving dozens of people bugtesting it recently

Anchors and rowing are as basic as ordering 0 bears

Even if it's not basic, doesn't klei do bug testing as well? That's like, a standard thing for any software development, why do they have to depend on players to test those basic things? They even let basic crashes like crash when simply using Wurt's skill into beta, wouldn't be surprised if they didn't do any testing.

The simple truth is that there is severe survivors bias at play. The bugs/exploits they did catch, we aren't seeing. so the ones that we do see are more apparent and it's easy to call foul as if they were obvious from the start, when there are likely just other things that they were focused on that got dealt with before we even got to acknowledge them.

I kind of find this discussion exhausting already on the basis that i have observed you making these sorts of remarks like 5 times in the past week

and they were. Crashing when simply building something is obvious.

The crab king one is not even a bug, you don' t need to test in game to see the issue, it's simply a design flaw. Knowing that:

a) Crab King will not attack if your boat is still in range.

b) You can place anchors to stop being pushed.

Idk how an experienced game designers wouldn't see the issue here.

I guess it can be solved by bringing back geysers. Make them generate inside the circle(I don't konw how big the circle is exactly, the picture is not accurate.)when CK summons waves. As we know geysers are destructive to the boat. So this will make us let the waves push the boat away. Klei please don't change trawlers and anchors to fix the problem. There are always methods to make the boat stay still. What I mean is that there will be more future updates bring us new ocean stuff. Compared with considering this cheese when design the new contents, geyser is a better solution, once for all.

Totally agree.

On the other hand, this particular exploit could show Klei a problem that future content updates might would have also had if Crab King had not shown this strategy.

My simple suggestion is to let Crab King destroy anything that isn’t your boat when the fight starts. Much like how Pre-Rework crab king shot up geysers to destroy all boats that weren’t actively being Rowed out the way.

Players will just build after the fight starts.

Simplest fix is Consequences™ for not letting your boat being pushed away. E.g., the wave phase switches to ice regardless, smashing your boat to smithereens if it's still present.

Plot twist, what if ocean waves could push your character off the deck of your boat if you don’t at least move out of the way of them?
