Lunar version of shadow events?

Recommended Posts

Current shadow events:

  • The fire consumers. (Hands)
  • The boat buster. (Wavy jones)
  • Weird stalker who does nothing.
  • Skits who does nothing.
  • Eyes in darkness.

What if we got lunar stuff like this for enlightment? Annoying Things that can be countered with no items at all but are still potentially dangerous.

I think it is hard to come up with new ideas for this, i found it hard to come up with one decent one.

(I have no good examples, i had an idea of one that lays on the ground like a trap (unsure of what it would look like), and knocks you back along with disarming you if you walk over it. It can be countered by looking directly at it for a few seconds, scaring it away)

They can be purely cosmetic like the shadow stalker too.

Considering the main reason why I value shadows more of lunar is mostly THIS! Enlightment seems way too tame / uninteresting to me, compared to how atmospheric the states / effects of insanity are. I bet I would automatically love lunar / enlightment at least twice as much as before when it gets as fleshed out as shadow / insanity.

I dont have much idea of how enlightment "works". Are they crazy? Are they sleepy? Are they overwhelmed with knowledge? I don't know the theme is confusing.

That would be important for designing new stuff for them, because the shadow stuff is all designed around making you feel insane with things like the eyes and the sound effects.

So far I have "interpreted" enlightment in the sense of the characters getting "hypnotized" by "the moon" until they fall into a "sleep". Which I thought was more of less annoying only. (though their expression when enlightment reaches a certain point looks funny x3)

Shadow stuff is spooky and gives headaches, enlightenment is about being overwhelming for the survivors. It has events already like making vision blurry and cause gestalts to slow and sleep them. It can be deadly on it's own if not careful around spiders or other creatures that might come after you like hounds or bosses.

Enlightenment seems mostly harmless overall while shadow side is a lot more mischievous, them having less things is prolly best thing just because moon's influence goes only so far and there's little of it beyond rift and moon island till moon storms happen.

I feel like whenever there's a glass rain enlightenment should have it's effect, or whenever full moon happens, all of this post celestial, we'd have lunacy for the night.

Yeah but like what Maxwell said, its less atmospheric and fleshed out. Gestalts are currently the only thing that happens when you have high enlightment. There could be special golems or something that only attack enlightened players.

We have those riftwalker thingies tho. But shadow influence is much greater rn till they expand upon, so... We gotta really wait and see than anything.
