Why merms(and other followers) can't be taken to cave?

Now merm king's power is covering both forest and cave, so I assume klei don't want us be annoyed by feeding two merm kings. But they still want us to build huge amount of warrior houses in both world? 

Why followers can't be bring to cave/forest from the beginning? Is it about respawn issue or something?

If you bring followers to caves it will unlink them from their house which will mean that they will begin their respawn timer and that is an issue because you could abuse it with warrior merms

Imagine you build 40 mermguard huts and then went to caves and then immediately leave the caves in half a day new merm guards will spawn and you will have 80 merms 40 which will wander around when untamed because they have no home spot

That is what I was thinking, but I think it can be solved by server communication. Maybe the cost of development is too high but really look forward it. Hope there will be better solution.

The problem is that they can add too much data being trafered between shards. For that they are very careful on which data they allow

I'm pretty sure when you mutant merms they unlink to their house because I noticed they don't try to return home after their loyalty runs out so I doubt this is the reason.

That is a bug and bugs aren't intended

As a full-time programmer, I can tell that what people call “Server communication” some are to can be implemented with a “Poof”, and some others are like trying to cram another book into a full bookshelf with a hammer and pliers, It's require 100 nights of warfare and 1000 energy drinks to implement.

Please please don't underestimate “Server communication” Programmers could die from it. Even if they just think about it:angel:.
