Here's my wishlist about the ocean QOL

I'm just dumping it all here. I'm going to shamelessly bump this thread back when beta releases.

  • Bottleg Getaway stacking to 10
  • Saltier lick repairing option
  • Every group of fish having at least one heavy fish
  • Deck Illumanator being more effective than fire pit.
  • Pearl no longer sending messages to Crab king after you give her the cracked pearl (So it's only chests)
  • More special fishes (Like sunfish)
  • Fishs giving you more loot depending how heavy they are
  • More sharkboi trades
  • More pearl trades
  • Pearl giving us the recipe for the fish food (Recipe could include barnacles)
  • New cannon ammo with Seedshells
  • Increased bottle spawn chance  (Increased sunken chest chance)
  • Overall Less sea stacks in your world
  • Better pirate stash loot
  • More boat bumpers
  • More boat patches
  • Better sunken chest loot
  • Cursed trinket not stunning you when it gets in your inventory 
  • Let us spawn Malbatross with another way
  • No more sunken chest limit
  • More palmcone scale crafts
  • Better Ocean blending effects

Deck Illuminator 

Light source range smaller than a fire pit, bad fuel efficiency. This is a really useless item now. It would be cool if Winona could make powerful lights for boat.

Water proof for some equipment

I hope Bandana, Tricorn, and Polly Roger's Hat have water resistance. I also hope I can get a raincoat and sewing kit from the sea.

It would be cool to be able to encounter previous Crab King fights depending on the moon phase or rift activation.

This alone could be a pretty good reward for defeating crab king I guess, as chests rewards are gonna get better too you probably want more of them asap,  not that I know much of treasure chest hunting but it sounds cool

I would really like something being done about Malbatross spawning. The fact that we have the only boss in the game that can potentially never spawn if you are unlucky is ridiculous. Just make each fish caught in the shoal increase the probability of it spawning by 10, up to 100% after 10 fish caught. Sharkboi already is guaranteed to spawn after three fish. There's no reason why this stupid bird should be so elusive. 

Why 10? Most stuff stack to 20 or 40. Doesn't matter much except it just gets more comfortable in game where inventory often is pain.

Knowing them they will make deck illuminator upgrade available only through ruins.

Personally, I would love if Malbatross had its own little island setpiece, maybe with like a nest on it for some extra loot or malbatross eggs, just for a guranteed location to go fight it if you manage to find its nesting grounds.

That's a cool idea, although requires a bit more time and effort to implement so unfortunately is less likely to happen any time soon. I feel like they already put too much effort into reworking CK and adding new content, not sure if they'll have time to revisit Malbatross.

Fair, I do absolutely adore the crab king rework attempt. Obviously we haven't gotten to play with it yet but it looks like its a direct improvement. It would be cool if they could touch up the other ocean related boss too

Thanks! That reminds me I still need to do a video of how totally useless that thing is.

If someone would want to make the video for me however, I wouldn’t object as I have been extremely busy with real life stuff.

Compare the brightness & effective light radius of Illuminator to the following light sources-

Torch, Lantern, Winona Spotlight, Cult of the Lamb Firepit (which can be built on a boat by the way..) And last but certainly not least, The mid Summers Cawnival Ticket Prize Booth.

I have no doubt that the Deck Illuminator underperforms every single one of them.

That doesn’t even also include Abigail, Willows Lighter/Dawrf Stars etc.

It does have a niche where it's not affected by night hands or wetness, and can make some cave builds more compact (assuming almost unlimited fuel from monkeys). Nothing amazing.

I'm still holding out for the malbatross setpiece idea. I added a thread to suggestions detailing it, but Im hoping for like, a malbatross nest that if you interact with it, it just spawns on you.

Wait, so is one of her trades the blueprint to craft fishfood?
