This isn't bait, I was streaming to my friends when I did the run in my DS/DST speedrunning server (Magicanes you know who you all are) when I got my day 50 PB non-seeded non-damage run, we don't really respect the rest of the DST "Speedrunning"  community so our runs aren't shared outside the sever.

As far as I'm aware from what I've experienced in the community, the 10k+ health metric has been a common metric for determining a boss for being major or not, and has been part of the speedrun.com boards ever since he got them so while he isn't an outside observer, he wasn't really the one who created this metric, he just put it in place since the boards were dead before he got them.

For me personally when I play with my group of significantly less skilled friends my view point is this, They’re trying to play and enjoy content that requires a steep learning curve which by all means COULD and SHOULD be made more enjoyable by becoming more accessible.

Now let me explain that I’ve played bullet hell shooters where on hard or sometimes even default mode, enemy projectiles would fly across the screen very fast and deal significant damage to you should you end up caught in the line of fire, however… that very same game also has options to significantly lower the skill threshold by doing things such as reducing the amount of projectiles, the speed on which they travel (giving more time to less skilled players to see & Dodge) and of course not insta killing you on hit.

What you’re showing here is someone who has become so familiar with the game and it’s mobs that they can literally avoid taking damage from the mobs.

But that does not automatically equal that those mobs are fair or even balanced.

I can proudly say I once held #4 on the global world wide leaderboard scores for Arkham Knight (the 3 scores above mine were hacked and couldn’t be beaten) I successfully could string together a flawless 450 hit combo without ever being hit or missing an attack, but again….

That didn’t mean the game didn’t need balance changes and difficulty adjustments for less skilled players.

So please don’t try and use this topic as a way of exclaiming bosses are fair and don’t need changes.

Did you record it, also by no damage run does that mean beefalo are allowed (also things like being hit by bone cage / gestalts?)

Actually, there is a secret discord server where my 7 year old son streamed himself beating dst as wes hitless with 1 hp, using pretty parasol as weapon, every mob and boss in the game day 91. I just don't need to show proof, evidence or even have people to back me up. Y'all just gotta believe me.

You still use discord? In MY speedrunning community we use minecraft redstone computer to record our results. We break each block down afterwards for extra digital security. Git gud.

Well if the challenge is the title of your video, it is much harder.
1) defeating all bosses > defeating major bosses
2) You still can't get hit, but you are weaker
3) you have no woby, insanity auras are not ignored
4) when you are not using 2 slots for sanity or have a higher tier sanity clothing, you get instantly insane, so you have to deal with shadows if you want explorer + magi
5) eating so often makes this so much harder

If the challenge is too just survive (for example a year), then it is not harder.

you can get hit in a 1 hp run (beefalo, snurtle shell, bone armor all negate damage and things like gestalts and bone cage don't damage you but would invalidate a hitless run) which is why it's massively easier

Pathetic. My servants only use computer data trasnsladated into clay tablets, written in aramaic and coded in old mandarin. We make complete sure that the tablets are randomly scattered throughout the pacific ocean.

Then i'd add, to my hypothetical challenge, that you can cheat for doing the impossible like summoning bq (and i guess toadstool too and other things you can't explode or use a workaround)

even if you couldn't get hit that'd still be easier than my challenge because of no time limit and no restrictions on how to fight the bosses, you can kill most of the bosses pretty effortlessly

Here's a little taste of my run, and no I don't let beefalo be allowed outside of purely moving the marble sculpture pieces and the celestial altars as they make the game simply way too easy, I allow gestalts but not bone cages (Obviously bone cages are supposed to damage you but a bug makes it so you don't take damage, and gestalts are a lunar creature and don't deal damage
