A Theory i had for awhile regarding Wagstaff (and maybe Charlie?)

Recommended Posts

We unlocked Maxwell as a playable character by completing adventure mode in solo ds, so maybe the same will be with Wagstaff?

There are some errors: Wagstaff meeting his own hologram clones. Though, his clones could just be pre-programmed and automated.

And i may aswell include charlie since she is the shadow side alternative, but honestly this one makes no sense.

Do you think there will be a permenant reward for fully completing the whole arc?

They aren't clones. In the intermission short we see him projecting himself to the constant by standing infront of the projectors light. So we can't have multiple Wagsussies because he can't be at 2 places at the same time.

It would be very interesting but i agree with the issues like playing as Wagstaff? Does it mean you can't defeat CC because of holograms and stuff like that, same with Charlie you can't die at night? Soo things like that would require new gamemode i guess

They could be easily justified as clones.

i honestly believe the holograms and wagstaff are different entities that might or not work together but they can have different goals, the projections taking a piece of wagstaff and forcing it into the constant.

adding wagstaff as a playable character then can be justified as that being the real wagstaff while the holograms are sentient pieces of himself that the constant itself is manipulating in the same way shadows are control by charlie? still a bit odd to add wagstaff and not consider adding wilba

Time travel shenanigans could make Wagstaff into a playable character, Wanda seems perfectly fine seeing another one of herself.

For as much as I'd love to play Robert in DST, I'm afraid it will never happen.

I will not let you shut down my dreams, I will stay delusional until a Klei dev says to me directly that he will never be playable in DST

Maybe before the new short but now we know how he projects himself and the projection/grainy transmission isn't a clone.

He could make clones to do it after discovering it.

Why Wilba? She was built around hamlet and so is all her upsides. We have Wurt too.

I kind of hope he and Charlie were "hidden characters" like Wonkey (provided the programmers fix the mechanics, of course), you can find some magic or science gadget somewhere in the Rift progression arc that will switch your character temporarily or permanently to Wagstaff/Charlie, as part of some task.

As key characters they deserve something more special... Although it'll be weird to see the two of them lined up with a monkey on wiki or somewhere.
