FTR
I play with two groups of friends and I want to have separate world for each. How to do it without screwing up any of the saves progress? Daniel86268
The simplest way is to create two seperate startup scripts and two different cluster folders. (They can use the same server installation) You basically set up a second cluster folder just like the first one, in the same folder as the first one. I'm gonna use MyDediServer and MyDediServer2 for my entire explanation, but you can name them however you like: <dedicated server folder> ├─ MyDediServer ├─ MyDediServer2 If you don't run both servers at the same time, you are already done with this part. (Meaning, you always shut down one, before you start the other.) However if you do want to run both Servers at the same time, you'll have to adjust the listening ports a little, cause they'd otherwise collide: Spoiler In the cluster.ini you have to change the master_port to something else. For example: 10889 In the server.ini files you'll have to change the server_port to something else, For example 10010 and 10011 respectively. 1st would be the default script: Spoiler #!/bin/bash steamcmd_dir="$HOME/steamcmd" install_dir="$HOME/dontstarvetogether_dedicated_server" cluster_name="MyDediServer" dontstarve_dir="$HOME/.klei/DoNotStarveTogether" function fail() { echo Error: "$@" >&2 exit 1 } function check_for_file() { if [ ! -e "$1" ]; then fail "Missing file: $1" fi } cd "$steamcmd_dir" || fail "Missing $steamcmd_dir directory!" check_for_file "steamcmd.sh" check_for_file "$dontstarve_dir/$cluster_name/cluster.ini" check_for_file "$dontstarve_dir/$cluster_name/cluster_token.txt" check_for_file "$dontstarve_dir/$cluster_name/Master/server.ini" check_for_file "$dontstarve_dir/$cluster_name/Caves/server.ini" ./steamcmd.sh +force_install_dir "$install_dir" +login anonymous +app_update 343050 validate +quit check_for_file "$install_dir/bin64" cd "$install_dir/bin64" || fail run_shared=(./dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer_x64) run_shared+=(-console) run_shared+=(-cluster "$cluster_name") run_shared+=(-monitor_parent_process $$) "${run_shared[@]}" -shard Caves | sed 's/^/Caves: /' & "${run_shared[@]}" -shard Master | sed 's/^/Master: /' The second would be one with the newly created cluster folder as cluster_name: Spoiler #!/bin/bash steamcmd_dir="$HOME/steamcmd" install_dir="$HOME/dontstarvetogether_dedicated_server" cluster_name="MyDediServer2" dontstarve_dir="$HOME/.klei/DoNotStarveTogether" function fail() { echo Error: "$@" >&2 exit 1 } function check_for_file() { if [ ! -e "$1" ]; then fail "Missing file: $1" fi } cd "$steamcmd_dir" || fail "Missing $steamcmd_dir directory!" check_for_file "steamcmd.sh" check_for_file "$dontstarve_dir/$cluster_name/cluster.ini" check_for_file "$dontstarve_dir/$cluster_name/cluster_token.txt" check_for_file "$dontstarve_dir/$cluster_name/Master/server.ini" check_for_file "$dontstarve_dir/$cluster_name/Caves/server.ini" ./steamcmd.sh +force_install_dir "$install_dir" +login anonymous +app_update 343050 validate +quit check_for_file "$install_dir/bin64" cd "$install_dir/bin64" || fail run_shared=(./dontstarve_dedicated_server_nullrenderer_x64) run_shared+=(-console) run_shared+=(-cluster "$cluster_name") run_shared+=(-monitor_parent_process $$) "${run_shared[@]}" -shard Caves | sed 's/^/Caves: /' & "${run_shared[@]}" -shard Master | sed 's/^/Master: /' This way both servers instances will only run in their respective instance folder, and not interfere with eachother whatsoever. I used the Linux script versions, as I'm running all my servers on Linux, but you can just copy your normal startup script, and edit the cluster_name variable yourself, if you use a different platform.
