please push hazard solutions farther into the endgame

Recommended Posts

The new survival mechanics don't really mean anything if they can be completely countered right after they appear. I get that these counters are important for improving player experiences right now, and I am happy with them being provided, but I do hope that they are going to be pushed more into the future endgame when it is created. This would make them an actual threat to players as they would progress.

Are there any plans to do this?

The issue they'd come across is that with the high update frequency they have a lot of people to pander at the time. With that, they have to bring solutions to these problems earlier because who knows how many years more they'll have to work on the game's content at this point to bring anything new and whacky to bring new solutions to each one of these problems.

While, yes, they could toss the loot tables to new monsters over, but it'll leave people for a long while till we get any solutions to those problems.

My critique is that they've added those mechanics what they they thought "at the time might be cool" as a danger in lategame, but had to build into what we currently have for solutions instead of having anything prepared in the future for how we could clear those hazards. It's still very new and conceptual from looks of it, it'll take time for Klei to figure out what works and what we might enjoy or not.

yeah I'm happy with a band-aid fix for now but I hope they have the rest of from beyond thought out despite their update schedule.

I feel like whatever we'll be getting next is likely less environmental hazards but new monsters to deal with, or things out in the wild being a lot more wild than usual.

Yeah the new rains for both rifts were so damn disappointing for me, we haven't gotten weather effects in years at that point and all we got was annoying filler with counters to them being instantly in place as soon as you first encounter them.

Sometimes less is more and normal rain proves that, the new weather tries to do too much, impacts too little and as soon as it's introduced it also gets a FULL 100% counter alongside it, or the impact gets removed from the game due to hoe undercooked and unfun it was.
