Something wrong with Lunar island forest

Unlike many other forests, or even cave ones - lune trees seem to be very very sparse and rare on the island they live in. After mass chopping a thousand days ago they never seem to return but as a few. They looked a lot more lush before, but this doesn't look like lush does it?

I don't know if this is normal but it doesn't look like to me.
