Due to the lack of sunlight, the local plants have become carnivorous and hostile. - Hazards - Webber looks smug for some reason. - Shadow webbing - These webs are on the ground, they become more visible the more insane you become. If you happen to step on a web, 3 shadow leggings will spawn. Said web has a 3 minute cooldown. Webber is immune to stepping on shadow webs. - Shadow legging - Fuzzy! ugly! STATS: HP: 200 ATK: 20 SPD: 9 Perk: Can only be attacked at low sanity, but it can attack you at any time. Pattern: Will try to chase you and bite you, draining 15 sanity. (This has a secondary purpose of revealing the mechanic of them being only visible at low sanity) =- The blood altars -= Who doesn't love a good blood sacrifice? Several altars are scattered around the biome. To activate these altars, you must bring the correct type of spider to it and place it on a pedestal (Done in a menu similar to building the celestial portal). If done correctly, shadow hands will drag the spider 6 feet under, activating the altar. If done incorrectly, the shadow hand wags it's finger and rejects your offering. Activated altars will be connected to a giant stone grave via shadow webbing. Required sacrifices: Mending altar - Nurse spider. Ruined altar - Dangling depth dweller. Deformed altar - Shattered spider. Waterlogged altar - Sea strider. Scarred altar - Warrior spider. Bland altar - Regular spider. Sloppy altar - Spitter. Thick altar - Cave spider. =- New boss: Daddy long legs! -= A queen needs a king. SUMMONING: Activate all of the altars scattered around the biome and he will emerge if you come close enough to his grave! STATS: HP: 5000 ATK: 75 (150 to mobs) SPD: 2 Has a shadow affinity. Behavior: - During the bossfight, several visible webs will slowly crawl across the floor. If you step on them then it will trigger a chain reaction, bursting into shadow flames, damaging you and setting you on fire. - He will weave 2 warrior shadow leggings every 20 seconds, which constantly jump at you. DROPS: [Embalming kit recipe] x 1 [Nightmare fuel] x 10-15 [Pure horror] x 5-10 (If shadow rifts are activated) [Spider crown] x 1 - Spider crown - Spiders will call you "milord". Lasts 30 minutes, can be refueled using shadow fuel for 20%. Effect: 5 spiders will serve you. Survivor bonus effect: Summon 2 shadow leggings to serve you every 2 minutes. Capped at 12. Disapear if you take off the crown. Maxwell bonus effect: Gain a spell to summon a shadow legging for 10 sanity. Webber bonus effect: For every loyal spider within 5 tiles of you, a shadow legging spawns. If the spider dies, the legging dies. If the spider is out of range, the legging dies. If the legging dies, it doesn't respawn for the spider. Capped at 20 leggings. Embalming kit RECIPE: [Shadow fuel] x 10 [Living log] x 2 [Bone shard] x 2 10 uses, repair armorsfor 100% durability, BUT they lose 20% of their MAX durability. Takes 3 seconds to apply. Repairs bone helm for 10%, no strings attached. Developing arachnophobia RECIPE: [Overcoming arachnophobia] x 1 [Papyrus] x 4 [Spider crown] x 1 [Feather quill] x 1 3 uses, -50 sanity per use. Spawns 3 spider nests, type depends on the turf the spell is used on. Wicker only. =- NEW PLANTS! -= Who doesn't love violent plant life? - Dangling tree - Spawns on the cave ceiling, on dirt mounds. Sometimes they drop vines, which snag your headwear and drop it under another farther dangling tree. - Wild grass - This tuft is slightly greener, it gives 3 grass per yield but requires meat after 15 harvests. Doesn't grow under sunlight. - Pekrish sapling - This sapling has hair! It gives 3 twigs per yield, but doesn't grow under sunlight. Will spawn an underground root which won't stop following you when harvested. Root: HP: 100 ATK: 10 SPD: 5 Pattern: Identical to a brightshade vine, except it's relentless.
