Rude Interlude needs a buff.

Recommended Posts

So, the dev said they're going to buff the panic duration of Startling Soliloquy in upcoming beta, and decrease the cooldown of battle stingers. Now, every battle songs of Wigfrid now have its own use.

Except... The Rude Interlude. The song that draws nearby enemies' aggro. The song is completely overshadowed by the existence of Stratling Soliloquy. Besides the fact that the song is almost completely useless in solo run, Both songs' effect radius is the same, and both cannot work against bosses. Even the Fireproof Falsetto has its own unique use now, The Rude Interlude is the worst songs of Wigfird.

So, here's some lists of optional buffs Klei can possibly use for Rude Interlude :

1. Give it an "Effect Duration", which guarantees Wigfrid to hold hostile creatures' aggro for certain seconds.

For now the song has almost no use even with your teammates, because single hit from your teammate will take the hostile creatures' aggro immediately from Wigfrid. There could be a strategic advantage if the song actually "fixes" the enemies' aggro for a while.

2. Increasing the effect radius. There's no reason to choose this song over the Startling Soliloquy, because the effect radius is the same.

If this song has bigger radius it would make a great synerge with other AoE attacks, like elding spear, Wormwood's moonshroom spore, Startling Soliloquy itself, brightshade bombs, Maxwell's shadow sneak, etc.

3. Make it work against bosses. It will give the reason to player to choose this song over the Startling Soliloquy.

Battle ronds will make a good pair with this song, if it can draw bosses' aggro. It would become a viable option to protect your teammates from single-target bosses. Still far more reasonable than Maxwell's shadow prison.

From the beginning of its existence, the Rude Interlude is underrated badly and nobody ever used it. If such changes are introduced, the song will have a new chance to rise and shine, and the players of Wigfrid will get a new way to interaction with their teammates while combat. I hope this song get a buff in the upcoming beta branch.

I think that there should have an effect for solo players.

The rude interlude is somewhat like a %#@$ that she says. An insult that drags their attention. So maybe it could calm dragonfly enraged phase? That by itself is already a big big big plus.

I absolutely agree with this statement. It has been 3 years since Wigfrid’s rework and as a person who enjoys selecting her and has many hours just as her, I have never felt the need to use the Rude Interlude simply because even though concept is good, the execution is impractical.

I definitely agree with the points that have been presented to improve this song.

It aggros neutral mobs like volt goats.

Also the rude song and startling song are completly different, they dont cancel each other out.

The rude song should grant wigfrid a temporary defence bonus against the effected mobs, and the startling song should make affected mobs take more dwmage for the duration.

In the beta using Wigfrid's battle canister feels much, much more convenient now!

And the Startling Soliloquy duration buff made the song even more useful, with the cooldown buff. Now the skill feels like a strong advantage rather than an optional choice. Anyone reads it just try Wigfrid!

If they actually give aid to the Rude Interlude in this beta, it would be absolutely perfect for Wigfrid. Oh boy.
