Doubts on Bearger Spawns and Megabase

Recommended Posts

Hello. I'm having issues building a Mega Base (Bearger, basically). I was thinking about traping Bearger using a Telocator Focus somewhere It wouldn't destroy my base once it spawns but it wouldn't work if next year another Bearger spawns. Any tips on how to handle Bearger on Mega Bases?

You can only have 1 alive bearger per world. If you telelocate him no other new bearger will spawn

What character do you use for megabasing? I main Wanda and giant raids are not an issue at all. I have a dedicated killing area for them with nothing to break nearby. When I hear the warning, I use a teleport watch which brings me to this area.

For any other character you can solve the issue by "parking" Bearger with ice staff in a corner of the world you rarely visit, preferably in a large open space area where you can use him as a wood chopper (Bearger is the best lumberjack in the game). Alternatively, if you don't want to interact with him, you can teleport him to one of the small lunar islands and leave there forever. He doesn't despawn, and a new one won't spawn as long as the old one is alive. For deerclops you can't do the same but you can use hostile flare on the first day of every winter to force summon it and leave the rest of the winter peacefully.

I always liked teleporting him to one of the smaller lunar islands, and decorating it for him as a habitat.  As others have said, as long as that bearger is alive no other one will spawn.  They never despawn like Deerclops and MGoose do, so you'll just have that one forever.

I don't do this anymore b/c we gotta fight zombear but I had the spark arcs I wanted I would probably still put him away.  Its just more a day 200+ task instead of a day 80 task lol (I used to never kill bearger, just move him to an island where he can live peacefully.)

Currently, I'm working on a Brazillian Mega Base named "Wonka's Chocolate Factory". The idea is have a lot of automatic food farms near a decorated mega-base. It is still a working in progress but I'm going to make it happen. When it's ready, I'm gonna let it be a Friendly Open World (as long as nobody messes with the Base Aesthetics/Desing)

Teleporting him sounds amazing. Gonna just let him on ground until I've to kill him to get Wagstaff's new items.

Deerclops ir rarely an issue, they're my best friends in the game, acctualy. The first Boss I learned how to kite

Thanks everyone for the adivice. Translocating him seems like the best idea so far.

You might be interested in this topic then! Feel free to share your base screenshots there, it sounds like a cool idea!

If you want a simple solution to your bear problem, it is coded to only go after and attack food sources, So If your base has no Crockpots, Fridges or Saltboxes full of food- Bearger Doesn’t care about you OR Your Base.

This also goes true for the possessed Armored Variant. (Im slightly shocked that “End-Game” Bearger is passive, but ehh it is what it is and at this point im tired of arguing with Klei over how passive end game stuff feels.)

Bearger is 125% Avoidable if you have no food to satisfy its hunger.

mega-Basers however likely have relocated all the berry bushes, built bee honey boxes, and a bunch of other stuff making the hungry bear lick its lips and come charging.

Bearger, when I'm using Bearger to dupe moonstone at the moonstone altar and accidentally pick up my bait food with my lazy gatherer:

wrong, it seems to attack pretty much everything, at least players and bosses, you can kill BQ using it if you'll get lucky and it won't deaggro and go away in the middle of the fight
