[Suggestion] Year of the Dragonfly: Scalemail improvement

There are several items in the game that are not attractive to players. This is one of them.

Klei could improve it during the Dragonfly event.

80% (or 85%) protection seems like a good number for a boss item.

It's just a suggestion for an item I never make in my worlds.

That means it would have less durability

Protection is not the problem.

 

It is just so niche, and fire has too much downsides to work well on this armour unless Willow. It is also exepsnive for what it does.

for one, perhaps the scalemail could always ignite enemies in the sort of "Tame Fire" that willow can cause with the controlled burning perk.

I think the perfect fix for this item is to add damage to enemies on-fire. If you did an extra 10% while wearing it, it would already be useful enough. We can't make it 20% tho because the warbis would be outshined.

It already is though by any riff headgear item.

I think in combat it should also do fire damage when enemy is near you. Stacking fire damage along side with those that get set on fire.

Scalemail could summon Lavaes with a 50% chance when you attack enemies, these attack and burn when killed, also the armour could provide warmth kind of WX-78's thermal circuit and provide 85% wetness protection, making it perfect for winter and spring finally giving it the chance to be worth making.

You could say it’s a “tame flame”
