Skelewar
Warly is one of my favorite characters, but he is unfortunately a "swap character": one that is used to craft their unique resources and then forgotten in favor of a more active character. That's really the only issue that there is with him: There is no reason to continue playing Warly. The skill tree aims to fix that. Branch 1: Solo When Warly eats something that completely fills his hunger to max, he is satisfied! Hunger drain is paused for x minutes. Warly gets two new spices. One gives a speed increase and one reduces hunger drain. Speed increase should be sugar, but honey already has a spice. Perhaps three honey spices equals one refined sugar spice. Reduced hunger drain is made from three mushrooms of any color. Warly's spices last x% longer when consumed by him. Warly's spices buffs are x% stronger when consumed by him. Branch 2: Misc crafts Warly can cook a special chef meal that gives a speed boost. This idea is exclusive to the speed spice idea, one or the other. If you think the spice idea is better than a special meal, skip this point. Warly can craft a disposable crock-pot. This is made with logs and twigs and must be placed over a lit fire to work. Once the food is harvested, the crockpot falls into the flames and fuels the fire equivalently. This is meant for emergency situations when the portable crockpot is forgotten or lost and to reduce the need to devote an inventory slot to the portable crockpot. Warly cooks food in all crockpot types x% faster. Additionally, the smell of cooking food gives him a positive sanity effect in a wide range around cooking crockpots. Warly can craft bellows using boards and mosquito sacs which has x uses. These are usable by only Warly and Willow. When bellows are used on a crockpot to further shorten its cooking time and then can be used on any fire. When used on a fire it's burn time is reduced but it radiates it's potential heat faster with an additional x% more heat than normal. For example if you're waiting by a fire to reach max possible temperature in winter, bellows will cause the fire to go out sooner and you to reach max temp sooner as well. Branch 3: Teamwork (most exciting) Warly can craft a dinner bell with gold and a twig that has x uses. Similar to Wolfgang's coaching whistle, only Warly can ring the bell. When the bell is rung nearby friendly creatures and player receive a buff: When eating crockpot dishes allies receives x% more hunger (most), x% more sanity (medium), and x% more health (least). Dinner bell buff lasts x% longer Warly can craft a shadow based dinner bell (dinner hell? sinner bell? help) with thulecite and a living log. This does everything the base dinner bell can do but with way more uses and some additional effects. Perhaps a "full stomach" effect for other players, maybe over-heal, maybe spice buffs, idk something really good. Those are my ideas, I don't have anything planned for the lunar and shadow routes, maybe spices made from pure brilliance/horror than do some planar nonsense? One does +planar damage and one does +planar defense? Regardless, let me know what you think and thank you for reading! Lavaman5150
I like the overheal idea, how would that work? Like if youre at 149/150 and you eat a pierogi you get 39 extra health? That can't stack forever that'd be OP. If it only happened once then you'd want to max it out by getting as close to 150 as you can and then eating waffles or something. How would it work with jellybeans? Maybe just an overheal cap of ~50, or 25%, or something.
