dzzydzzy
Only mentioning the skills I used, I beat every boss except for Malba, AFW (didn't prioritize it), and toadstool Seed Sleuth is cool for impatient farmers who want to get rid of weeds before they germinate good starter skill Growth Spurts I-III great skills, must have for any Wormwood main where the goal should always be to stay bloomy Photosynthesis the health gain is mediocre atm, but totally fine. Since wormwood doesn't get the casual +1 hp from carrots and cooked berries or +5 hp from meatballs that other players get, this is a good compensation If I were to tweak it, I would suggest that the rate of hp gained should be higher but in order to receive the benefits must have 0 head wear on so that his leaves are in the sunlight. I thought it was odd to see myself gaining hp while wearing an eyebrella because in theory I'm in the full shade Farmhand the increased range to plants tended in bloom is unnecessary (but I understand it's sort of an artifact of the original skill tree Klei came up with) the faster picking is very nice I wish there was an upgraded skill to this that allowed for harvesting giants without need for a hammer, that would be amazing Bramble traps upgrade fabulous Bramble husk upgrade Amazing amazing amazing. I almost wish that there were more upgrades centered around these original crafts Wormwood has Bee Kind I feel like y'all did this for the pun. The best way to synergize this skill is by synergizing with Wormwood's need for stingers. So maybe killer bees still emerge from their hives but follow Wormwood neutrally to then attack other mobs or killed by bramble husks easily Lunar guardian I I wanted to like this skill so bad, but it's just a stepping stone for Lunar guardian II The fact that it only activates after being hit does not encourage use and doesn't come in handy for most boss fights because of delays between attacks, they break free by their next hit. I would fix this by making it activate after landing a certain number of successful hits, similar to the bramble husk, this would be especially helpful for bosses like dfly and Klaus phase II where they move a great distance while landing hits Lunar guardian II Pretty cool stuff, love the idea of using the brightshade vines to add to your dps Mushroom cultivator silly note but "Mushroom Mastery" should say "Mushroom Mastery I" since there is a "Mushroom Mastery II" skill and it should be consistent with "Growth Spurt I" skill Overall I'm into the Mushroom skills both yield and speed upgrades, they're very helpful for greencaps to spam during the Celestial Champion fight and then just cook em for the opposite effect Plant crafting I don't know how helpful these skills are. the recipes for all plants besides saplings are too expensive to use (especially the lureplant one) the monkeytails seem helpful but I just wasn't prioritizing mass-producing them If it were possible I'd replace all these crafts with Lunar-specific plants (keeping the lunar saplings and monkeytails recipes). Something along the lines of transmute 4 flower petals +5 hp to lunar blossoms, 2 lunar blossoms + 5 hp + rot for lunar moth to make it easier for Wormwood to boom the amount of lunar trees without a ton of nets. maybe transmute 40 stone fruit plus manure plus 10 hp for 1 sprouting stone fruit. I'd also love an ability to craft mushroom trees for decorative purposes since those are currently not available. It would have to be an insane recipe though to compensate for the infinite light. Maybe something like 40 of that colored tree's spores plus hp plus fertilizer. It isn't for stunlocking bosses into easy wins. Ok I hear you, but then to me that isn't worth being in the top tier of his skill tree, that seems more helpful as an early on solution. and with bramble husks being such an effective tool for hound defense, I don't feel like lunar guardian I is the better solution. and for taking out hoards such as bees and spiders, bramble husk AOE is far superior in the chest slot to me Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/150750-after-playing-wormwood-w-skill-tree-for-500-days/#findComment-1662785 Share on other sites

You get to choose either the vines to speed fights up or the thorns to make fights really easy. But as you said, it's not the top of his skill tree, it's a prerequisite perk to the super overpowered vines. You need to choose many other skills before being able to choose these, and most of those are not nearly as powerful as Lunar Guardian I. Valase
I really like WW skill tree, as it gives him a lot of combat power that feels in character with him, my only "complaints" would be more of how certain skills were implemented, but I'm still very satisfied. 7 hours ago, dzzydzzy said: Growth Spurts I-III great skills, must have for any Wormwood main where the goal should always be to stay bloomy I really like this skill, as I can't use the bloom meter mod to tell how much bloom I have left, so being able to go back to bloom quicker is just great! But I also love if those two and the next bloom skill could just made the growth formula value bigger (1.1x, 1.3x, 1.5x and a bigger bloom meter). 7 hours ago, dzzydzzy said: Bramble traps upgrade fabulous Bramble husk upgrade Amazing amazing amazing. They both play really well in the character theme and "hint" at his future lunar aligned skills. 7 hours ago, dzzydzzy said: Bee Kind I feel like y'all did this for the pun. But currently I'm using a torch+watering can, dunno if it helps you. (Also, you can just fill you pockets with killer bees and release on CK!) 7 hours ago, dzzydzzy said: Lunar guardian I I wanted to like this skill so bad, but it's just a stepping stone for Lunar guardian II The fact that it only activates after being hit does not encourage use and doesn't come in handy for most boss fights because of delays between attacks, they break free by their next hit. But I also think that you misjudged the function of the armor against bosses, as it is meant to stop them while you run and try to heal (It was good before the bramble husk became great with its own skill). One funny thing that happened to me was that I died one time because I got swarmed by a bunch of spiders and as they got "stuck" on the thorns, I got stuck on them, so none of us could move and they munched me alive. 7 hours ago, dzzydzzy said: Plant crafting I don't know how helpful these skills are. the recipes for all plants besides saplings are too expensive to use (especially the lureplant one) the monkeytails seem helpful but I just wasn't prioritizing mass-producing them If it were possible I'd replace all these crafts with Lunar-specific plants (keeping the lunar saplings and monkeytails recipes). The only part of WW skill tree that I dislike, since I play most solo, I don't see a use in any of that, even for decoration. The other thing that made me dislike it even more, is the fact that it swapped places with the bloom branch, so I feel obliged to take the mushroom branch in order to have the rat production skill (I still love the rats, they bring me joy in their little hands). Overall, the only thing that I would like to have approached would be some other QoL to his fertilizers habits, so you don't have to consume rot every ~2s in order to get the correct value from its healing (maybe even making that the rot use the quick eat animation), but besides that, I'm really happy with this skill tree, and I'm excited to see what is in store for the next contenders! Get several packs of Lightbulb in the cave, let them spoil, Make about three bee farms, get some red mushrooms, make some ipecaca, give them to the buffalo or pigs, then you will have packs of Manure and Rot, make about six mushroom planter , and you will have an almost automatic farm of Manure and Rot, being able to make several compost wrap, which you can use to Create the lureplant farm, you will only need to get the Leafy meat, if you are lucky and there are Grass geckos on your map, just kill them all, if you don't have the best option is to go kill the Grass gator in the Ocean, then you'll be able to make as many lureplants as you want, and you can even use them to kill Fuelwaver using the Hoondious Shoot the best option on the skill tree to make farms is, get all the skills in the middle, and then get the ability to create lureplants.
