A Better Way to Mass Fertilize Stuff

Recommended Posts

When you need to re-fertilize your plants, it takes a lot of time to re-fertilize them. Having something to make this a more enjoyable process would be appreciated.

Here's an example in my world of me re-fertilizing some grass cause I needed grass. I know others have much larger farms than this as well!

hmm, only solution i can think of is when you hold rot and hold space, it would automatically fertilize, unfortunately that does not happen already like with some other actions.

I am also surprised with that amount of grass tufts, you would run of out grass.

its a 20x6, 20 long and 6 width, meaning there's 120 grass tufts here, if I counted right. they both have 20 uses

120x20= 2400 grass. that's a LOT of grass, I'm curious, how did you use it all?

This being in a world on day 1486 I can imagine where all the grass might go. I love that you didn't optimize your fertilizing to show how it normally goes too. I agree that just getting "the mod that is necessary" is a bad answer and think there should be a better way... what if there was an item like the turf raiser but for fertilizing? maybe the gardeneer hat? I know I used that once, and sometimes I'll make the Premier Gardeneer Hat, but it doesn't do anything to help me garden anymore, since I researched all the plants, and know what combos of crops fertilize each other.

It's a late game megabase world.

It all goes into rope, which then gets depleted when building and bundling.

I had to farm this a few times and I have 3 chests of rope but I'm already nervous seeing how fast its depleting.

I also have other plants that I regularly use (about 40 Banana bushes namely) and just constantly refertilizing that is also annoying :(

Sadly, only action queue is a solution for megabase farms.

That alongside crockpot repeater makes for a nice zen garden experience.

This here is another example, except with my Monkey Tail farm (I use the Reeds to make Honey Poultice for Wormwood shenanigans).

Btw, another solution is that you should play this music :

How about some kind of centralized fertilizer depot that can enrich the surrounding soil, whether cultivated soil for crops or natural soil for resources. I think an upgrade to the currently near-useless Bucket-o-Poop would do nicely. Make it refillable, not break at 0%, and be able to yield different nutrients based on what it's filled with (can only accept similar fertilizers unless empty). Manual usage cost would remain 10%.

  • Bucket-o-Poop: Manure +5%, Guano +10%
  • Bucket-o-Muck: Rot +5%, Rotten egg +10%, Compost +15%
  • Bucket-o-Goop: Glommer's Goop +10%, Tree Jam +20%, Compost Wrap +40%

Include an action for setting the Bucket-o-[____] tipped over. In this state, any wild plant in need of fertilization within a radius similar to an Ice Flingomatic (perhaps the area should be conical, maybe 150°, rather than a radius) will be instantly fertilized for a cost of 5% its fill value, which should be displayed after its name when placed tipped over. Also, any cultivated soil upon falling below 20% of a nutrient will fill it from an overturned bucket in range provided the bucket is of a fertilizer that yields that nutrient.
