Farming weeds with Wormwood

I know it's a bit late in the beta, but I think that it would be fitting if Wormwood could have some perks related to farming weeds. This could even be done with some minor adjustments to the Fruit Fly perk. I tried farming weeds with the perk enabled; tilling soil, letting the flies plant the weeds, and cycling this until I got the weed I wanted. This wasn't viable because (1) the fruit flies were in the way when I was trying to till the soil, and (2) the fruit flies were aggressive. It was arguably harder to farm weeds with the perk than without it, since the fruit flies stayed so close to Wormwood. If the perk was modified to deal with the two issues above, then I think it would be much stronger to reflect its position on the skill tree.

You're not late, I had a similar suggestion I posted here; then I threw steroids at it.

Neither was added.

My suggestion was that fruitflies would focus on planting weeds at a much faster rate when near wormwood. 

Maybe even doing so even without present tilled soil.

Then I suggested fruitflies would instantly grow weeds around Wormwood and they would then die after some time (like the forest stalker and ferns + lightbulbs). 

But the fact of the matter is that without some sort of petal production it's not very good. (Really wish you could catch butterflies with your bear hands...)

I've seen some other good ideas.

Klei won't budge on something so silly and useless for some reason. 

I honestly wish we had a husk skill instead, even if it's just refueling it with living logs.

I would never use forget-me-lots for filler when I can use it for soothing tea and beefalo treats.

Soothing Tea , Tillweed Salve , Beefalo Treats are more than enough reasons to farm weeds.

Farming weeds would be nice, if
A) weeds would become somewhat more useful.
Tillweed Savle is meh, WW can't warm himself in winter with Fire Nettles. He doesn't need the tea, because he can adjust his sanity with digging and planting as he pleases. Making tea and nettles for others, but not yourself, gives me Wes vibes, just as WW's farming in general. Beefalo treats would be great, if they add the beeaflo widget into the game, so that we see his hp without mods.
Spending time on those farms just doesn't feel worth it.

B) changing the Fly trap perk to assist that, and changing the fact the weeds need tilled soil.

If any of that happens, i'm sold.

And actually it would be nice, if ONLY Wormwood could benefit from growing weeds, i mean only he could make salve, tea and so on. And for other characters weeds would be... well, weeds. Useless things that need to be rooted out.
That would make WW a bit more useful and unique.

Interesting idea.
Though i believe fire nettles and fish were introduced as an alternative for thermal stone, which i like a lot. They just seem to work differently than the stone, are not good enough and need some love.

The fish are good for Wurt.

Yup, I think this is the way to go with the fly trap perk. 

I also made a suggestion on the main beta thread about it, suggesting the friendly fruitfly when held while blooming becomes a friendly weed planter with the perk. The fruit fly has basically no use in this situation normally, so would be a nice place to put it imo. 

Supporting a wormwood playstyle of weed farming would be a lovely option to have. Even with wormwood's easy sanity control tea can still be nice for celestial crown usage too, and tilweed can be situationally nice especially if it was much easier to get!

If they really wanted to go further, imagine being able to move weeds as wormwood. When you do, the friendly to wormwood option of the bramble weed and fire weed could be utilised as alternative placed traps, imagining the bramble weed trapping some enemies place like a weak Maxwell!

Sadly I do think this is much too late for this beta :( holding out hope they will revisit a few bits of wormwood's tree next beta, and we should remind them to finesse this bit of the tree then!
