Frosty_Mentos
The only time when the moon is completely hidden and one event is allowed being Shadow Pieces there's not much else going on sadly. I was thinking maybe shadows should have an ability to push back and new threats appear during that time to attack players and Alter's expansions, making something like Dreadstone ramparts or Dreadstone military camps as source of them on the surface and maybe caves. Shadow and lunar war began with archives, should show there being something happening depending on which side gains more influence at the time. cropo
A monster with no sound or footsteps and knows to stay out of the light until it decides you're in a vulnerable position to be attacked, and then rushes at you to attack you. Have it be humanoid like a character, and move at normal speed. At a decent light source, if you have time to react, you can kite it properly...but you'll always need to be on your toes whenever doing something that makes the threat think you are ''occupied''. Night Vision could counter it. I don't even think it should require a full moon, but some kind of warning to the player that something is out there, only to actually attack you a few days later when you forget about it would be cool. An overall expansion to shadow and lunar threats postgame, with appropriate loot rewards for postgame content besides brightshades and dreadstone rifts would be pretty neat. Shadowcraft Plinth doesn't have the same amount of recipies that Brightsmithy has, kind of unfortunate, these could be expanded with new threats. Another possibility is bargaining, the shadow and lunar factions have a theme of bargaining for their power at a cost. What if optional content dropped by, say for example a lunar gift would spawn nearby...opening it gives you great stuff..but if you do, something bad also happens. These wouldn't be combat threats but would be optional choices you could make. Obviously the downsides would have to be meaningful enough to be impactful. Like imagine a ''shadow gift'' that makes nightmares non-hostile to you, but you get corrupted for a few days and can only wear shadow-patented gear while it's in effect. Lots of cool stuff they can do with future updates here. I'm looking forward to the post-game ecosystem.
