"workshop-xxxxxxxx" error on Windows 10

Recommended Posts

After installing WIndows 10 on my HP Spectre I got an error that makes all mods look like workshop-xxxxxxxx.

"mods" folder has nothing in it. Steam\steamapps\workshop\content\322330 (second folder for mods) - I deleted everything from there. Tried this guide - nothing worked (launching as Admin, enabling Controlled Folder access [because my Ransomware protection was off]).

Unsubscribing and resubscrubing on some mods did nothing as well. Granting a full access to My Documents and DST Installation folder yields no results.

What should I do?

I unsubbed from everything and subbed on Death By WX-78 Chorusbox just for testing

Edit: This problem is true for server mods only, client mods work fine

This issue seems to have a different solution per person so what I have listed here may not work for you.

  1. You could unsubscribe to the mod, try going to DST's local files and delete the corrupted mod from the mods folder then resubscribe to it

  2. Verify integrity of game files from steam and hope it fixes itself

  3. Change the installation location of the game preferably to another drive (only solution that worked for my friend)

moving DST to C:/ (not Program Files cuz my Steam is located in a separate folder), unsubbing from all the mods and subbing on them one by one worked, thanks.

also that chorus box mod was an exception - the rest of the mods have installed fine, and then this mod somehow fixed itself lol
