Shouldn't Strikers bounce when hit by roots ?

The Mother of Methuselah is a pretty fun power, sending lines of roots that I first tried on the Striker weapon, the Mother Treek's Conker. As much as I enjoy its damage, I usually prefer to replace it with the Lobbed or Vertical Recall to keep the ball in actions because the roots does not count as an attack to send the balls back in the air like general attacks of the mob or rots does.

Is this intended or could it be improved to combo with the Strickers more ? Maybe this is due to the roots not attacking "friendly" things ? Or because they may be airborne as they can't hit flying things ? I don't know... but I think making them bounce when hit by the roots would be so awesome to pair with the weapon.
