firoborn
instead of a challenge that last for days it should have been an invasion event like in terraria, you get the flare thingy at the start of the day and you go to the place it spawned in to get the mats and kill as many BS as you can before the day ends and it despawns when the next day starts the waves could be tied to the day cycle where you get the minerals during the day and kill the BS during the night or something like that, anyway besides that I don't like them, beefalos can easily die to them and its pretty frustrating the stuff you can make with it is kind of QoL specially for fuelweaver but not that good some ppl say that the staff can be good with the crown but as warly i cant spam sanity food so the staff is pretty bad imo. On 6/2/2023 at 12:58 PM, Mike23Ua said: It’s Easier to fight a group of Brightshades than it is to fight a Spider Queen who now spawns Medic Spiders. Brightshades spawn on land, which usually have enough room to dodge & kite on. Which is more than I can say for being on a Boat interacting with swarms of Cookie Cutters, Water Spiders... (Intentionally excluded the monkeys cause holy crap the damage throughput) Maybe it is because I play on PC and am just use to that. I don't think brightshades are hard, but more time consuming and resource intensive than a spider queen. (Now 2 Spider Queens... yikes.) Cookie Cutters and Waterspiders have 100 and 150 hp respectively so 2 smacks from a hambat or dark sword is more than enough to easily handle them even en masse. Not saying you are wrong in your feeling that Brightshades are easier but like I said, maybe it's the controller difference? Dunno. Eitherway, thx for the response. Spider Queens can be more resource intensive than Brightshades if you go at it alone without using fire panic or traps. If you don't deal enough damage in time you'll keep dealing with Spider Warrior spawns and eventually have to deal with Crawling Horrors and Terrorbeaks, giving the queen more time to overwhelm you with spiders. And if nurses get to heal the queen it'll take even longer. You can get away with leaving them alone and they'll turn into dens, but the Spider Hat lets you turn the rest of the t3s on other Spider Queens/t3s to make quick work of them. lythe
I already defeat the Celestial Champion, gave Waxstaff the shard right after but still no rifts spawned yet. Its been 10 days is it normal? Its been 10 days is it normal? The rift spawned somewhere in your world 5 days ago, and if you give it 5 days more then it'll appear on your map! Rifts have to be a certain size before the game alerts you to their location, so you'll generally need to wait like 15 days before you're actually aware there's even a rift there yet. Maxil20
Personally haven’t minded the brightshades too much once the spawning was found out how to be consistent. I do notice 1 rift “cycle” usually take around a season or so, and the downtime to deal with the brightshades usually takes around 5-6 minutes (with an extra 3-4 to clear the rift of ryftstals, so it’s not too time consuming. I don’t normally use too much of the gear, but I really like the smasher. It feels great to have a hammer upgrade, and a massive one at that. I can pretty realistically go to any build I don’t like anymore in my world and tear it all down with ~2 smashers. Compared to using around a dozen hammers, most being for walls, this is a very nice upgrade. It also doubles as an excellent ruins clearing tool, and in my cases I’m able to consistently clear the entire ruins with honey spice while only using ~75% of a smasher. The weapons/armor are nice, but I haven’t needed to use them too much (I’ve mainly been relying on glass cutters due to an extreme excess of moon shards, same with the thulecite crown) but I can totally see how people would use the new brightshade gear, especially when the 2 mats can make every piece of the set. I haven’t used the staff at all, but I definitely see that being very useful for doing the moonstorm again (especially since the helm also doubles as goggles and gestalt protection!) Overall, I would say the items are good, with the only real downside being the brightshades if you don’t know how to properly handle them.
