Bernie maybe a big help as a distraction but upkeeping him is a bigger chore against bigger creatures than what I've seen with Abigail. At least give him some sort of thing he can do like harder shell after killing dragonfly and giving one a lavae egg, or infusing him with nightmare fuel to act like Willow's insane for a while without being that.
