monkey island is close to pearl most of the time

Recommended Posts

Pretty sure world gen pairs them up together, or at least they do every time a boot up a new world

Its annoying but making a trip to the ruins for some banannas to end raids quickly is well worth it, especially if it nets you some bananna bushes so you dont have to go back downstairs

It happened to me once but most of the time they are separated, They should definitely make them not generate close to each other under any circumstance. It kinda defeats the purpose of Pearl being a hermit, too.

if i'm getting unlucky but I've noticed pearl and monkey island are close together like 60 percent of the time.

you are just unlucky most of the time for me monkey island is somewhere out of the way so i have to travel for quite a while to find it

Tbh it defeats the purpose of the monkey raids being yeno non optional "raids" if the monkey island is in the middle of nowhere not near lunar or hermit island and you have to seek the raids out.

They should be annoying lol otherwise you are not playing a survival game. Challenges shouldnt be optional when playing with vanilla settings.

Au contraire. Take out all the random encounter garbage and replace it with survival challenges.

What makes Hamlet the best expansion is how it forces you into dangerous situations. Going into the jungle during humid season is dangerous but dang it, you might just need to get those anti-allergy plants because you didn’t get them in the normal season. Or you might just have to go through it in order to get to another “island”/plateau.

And if you die there it was because you made the choice to stay in the jungle at a bad time.

The fun deaths are when you make five bad decisions in a row because you didn’t do three things that you should have done seven days ago already.

Less fun is just dying to a random hound wave because the developers had no imagination back in 2013 and just said shrug well the players aren’t starving any more I guess we’ll just send random enemies with the player’s GPS coordinates?

A couple time had monkey island near perl/lunar/crab king, but mostly for me the island is next to world edge specifically corners or near them. Since I am using PS4, while looking at map I can zoom out and move my marker to reach all four corners of map and determine some land being too close to edge, that means where edge is far they are most likely to hold monkey island and lunar. As for hermit island it can still be anywhere because of its small size

As for encountering them:
It really depends what  you are doing, there are ways around, like having single banana droped on boat will make them go away,  just make sure its not entire stack.

If I am on grass raft the Pirate raid is fine, they can take some twigs an be on their way, no big deal, The annoying part starts is when using wooden boat since need boat patches.
Quite often i Got Pirate raid just from jumping on boat next to monkey queen. this does mess up most things like chess pieces if not having large dock border

The biggest cancer is pirate raid during crab king, depending how they will mess you up and depending on time to recover/prepare, they might come back the very next day  to mess you up again

I really like living on monkey Island, lots of stuff from Unstable portal, away from all those griefers in public servers, and with 4 giant trees you can forget that summer exists, you can use Monkeytails on fire and you wont run out, Bananas are much better then reed harvest, you are able to convert 1 banana to 2 recipes and erasing them into 2 papyrus

as wanda/wortox there is no problem traveling to or out of it, there are also other ways to teleport

Hmm some good points you made, to replicate the better hamlet method of survival klei should remove oasis wildfire protection and force players to go to the monkey island to retrieve the blueprint for ice flingos otherwise their bases will burn come summer!

Forced into dangerous situations for survival!

Abrocator you are a genius! :wilson_lightbulb:
