D3M0N885
Will he overheat faster if I have short/medium/long beard during summer? Will it take shorter amount of time for me to start taking damage from the heat of summer with a beard, versus if I did not have a beard at all? Because I want to have beard in summer for the food storing slots in the beard. GuyNamedChris
Yes, having a beard gives you heat coldĀ insulation, going higher per beard length. You can still offset it with summer clothes and a thermal stone, but your summer will be easier if you shave it off. Juanasdf
AFAIK no, cold insulation clothing and beards won't make you overheat faster Same goes for heat insulation items during winter. The insulation items both work the exact same way, they delay your temperature dropping/increasing in their respective season. IIRC they check the world's temperature and deactivate accordingly, that means that a tam o shanter shouldn't do anything besides giving you sanity during summer. What I'm not sure of however, is wether a tam o shanter will delay your temperature going down (for example if you stand under a tree, will it take longer to go down) EDIT: Just checked the wiki, apparently yes, beards offer a negative amount of heat insulation, which should make you overheat faster, same applies to webber and woodie... And wes, huh guess you learn something new every day lol. Cheggf
Not if you are using a thermal stone or icebream. With clothes it will slightly lower the time you stay cool. 18 hours ago, GuyNamedChris said: Yes, having a beard gives you heat insulation, Heat insulation (which is good) does nothing to cold insulation and vice versa. The beard gives cold insulation (good) and negative heat insulation (bad). As far as I'm aware other things like a tam do not give negative heat insulation so they don't make you overheat faster, it's only character traits that give negative insulation of either type.
