[What if] Polluted Oxygen had no downsides except being a Slimelung factory?

This is a fantasy post, this is not a suggestion. This a probably a bad idea, and the ship has long sailed.

What if PO2 had no downsides except being a bomb-fuse for slimelung (non-deadly, coughing task interruption type) and there were no deodorizers. This would have also required oxygen masks, which are now in the game to handle the slime biome-thimblereed catch-22.  This would have made slimelung scary without being actually deadly. The way to deal with the disaster would have been to filter the PO2 rich areas using a gas pump, gas filter and gas reservoir. Quarantining sick duplicants would also have been a priority.

There are problems like how annoying it would have been and how we would have produced clay, but that is why this is a bad post.

I don't have to imagine what if.  I can remember what was.  Before the merge-down update that's what PO2 was like.  Yucky lungs wasn't a thing back then.  (I think they added Yucky Lungs to incentivize players to deodorize PO2 on then new Spaced Out swampy starts and asteroids.)

Anyway, here's something that was possible back then:

Before merge-down this captive guest would be able to survive never leaving this room.  Surviving by breathing the PO2 that wafts from their own waste.  Another dupe with access kept the fridge stocked with Berry Sludge.

Thanks to Yucky Lungs adding a +30 g/s air consumption debuff for PO2 if I let this save run she will eventually suffocate as her waste pool oxygen source dries up.

This is a small slice of my main base game save which is 6200 cycles old.  I haven't had the heart to try and rescue, um uh, hrmmm... 103 such guests and renovate their suites for clean oxygen consumption.
