speckle21
Once we get a particular food we like, or can mass produce, there is no reason to change. This is okay for early phases but i think to encourage bigger colonies and more food production varieties, there could be a positive moral buff for multiple types of food. Like if a dupe just eats +3 quality food all the time, then all they get is +3, but if they get two different +3 food types, then they'll actually get a +4 morale boost. if they can eat 3 different +3 foods, then it's a +5 boost. This would encourage greater varieties of food production, and it especially helps if you can't access the other ingredients for the higher tier foods, but have enough for different lower tier foods. Sasza22
That would be a nice mechanic but pretty obscure and hard to see for newer players that it even exists. IMO it would be better if there was a specific building allowing to create food compositions. It would take from 2 to 4 food types and mash then together into a plate. The resulting morale effect would be the average out of the ingredients + a bonus for the amount of them. I might refine it into a a proper idea when i have time.
