MadMatt
As of right now the Weremoose is in all situations a better Treeguard killer than the Werebeaver. Pine Treeguard? Moose does more DPS and has more than double the armor. Poison Birchnut? Moose can quickly chop them with a few charges while also wiping out birchnutters with ease, while having the same benefits as before. This is upsetting because the Werebeaver has a specific mechanic to do more damage against tree enemies, but it never gets used since he can't even spawn Treeguards but also because you would never want to use one because the Moose is strictly superior. Increasing the extra damage is the most straight forward way to go about changing this but in case for some reason that isn't viable I also thought of a different idea: Give Werebeaver an AOE effect specific to when he gnaws tree enemies! It could work like when he attacks a tree enemy it "splinters" the wood and creates a short AOE around the enemy that hurts nearby enemies for the same damage. This would go a long way to giving the Werebeaver more of a niche against Poison Birchnut trees specifically, but also against groups of Pine Treeguards, being able to do lots of damage at once at the risk of being shredded with a mere 25% armor by grouped up Treeguards. Maybe also make it apply to regular trees, and it'll chop nearby trees at the same time?! Would help a lot with Beaver being virtually useless as you progress through the game/what characters other players pick. Just something extra to make Werebeaver's increased tree damage more than a wiki fun fact <:) Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/145105-werebeaver-should-have-some-niche-against-tree-enemies-that-moose-doesnt-strictly-do-better/ Share on other sites
bjanmanjs
I always thought it was strange that Birchnutters take extra damage from the Werebeaver, but still take the same amount of hits to kill, since they survive with a sliver of health remaining.
