Bring back Wonkey ghost--leave everything else as it is

Recommended Posts

So, apparently the wonkey ghost doesn't appear in the game anymore because of the mechanic of dropping the cursed stuff upon death. I think dropping the stuff is fine, but so that the wonkey ghost doesn't go to waste, perhaps have someone who died as a wonkey be a wonkey ghost, but upon revival, they're whoever they were before, since they don't have the cursed items anymore. Then we can still see the wonkey ghost, but the changes to the mechanics can also stay as they are. Woodie has multiple ghosts depending on his form when he died, right? (I never play as him, but I thought that was the case) So perhaps everyone can have a wonkey ghost form if they die as a wonkey, and then revive as themselves. Does Woodie revive as a human even if you revive one of his other forms' ghosts?

I'm glad that death can cure the curse now, just it seems a shame for the wonkey ghost to never be seen again. So, that's my idea.

Death should defiantly NOT cure the Wonkey curse, that kinda defeats the entire purpose of the whole update…

Whats the point in trading Bananas to Moon Quay Queen if a quick death and revive fixes it? What’s the point of being cautious in how many monkeys you kill to avoid the curse if again.. just dying and reviving fixes it?

I have not tested it with Wanda yet.. but I bet this new method is so broken she can rewind her death with second chance clock and because she’s Wonkey not Wanda the stupid clock doesn’t even break like it’s supposed to when Wanda uses it (again entirely untested.. will test later.)

If Klei felt having to take bananas to the monkey queen was too harsh they could’ve done something similar to the Beefalo Bell- Aka: A Beefalo follows you when the bell is rung near to them until you break your bond to that Beefalo..

Cursed Trinkets could become weaker in power over time (when your not killing monkeys to get more necklaces on you) and- when the players necklace count is removed down to 1 trinket left (either by trading bananas to Moon Quay Queen or by avoiding killing monkeys for awhile..) the player can choose to “Break” the last necklaces curing the Monkey Curse, or keep it to remain as funny Monkey.

TL:DR- if needing to go to moon quay Queen to remove curse was too harsh- just let the necklaces disappear passively till the last one: Player can keep or break this necklace after X time.

I just suggested an idea that makes the curse less punishing, and also let’s people who want to play as Wonkey stay as Wonkey.

Wonkeys ghost is insulting to me though… looking at it in the compendium it seems like Klei designed it just to make fun of my enormous big ears. :wilson_cry:
