puft overcrowded :(

Recommended Posts

I've heard that one puft needs 24 tiles. Obviously, Puft are overcrowded in 4000 tiles area with other 350 critters.

My pufts stopped laying eggs, and their numbers reduced significantly.

I have many shine bugs running solar panel, and many hatches to reproduce coals.

All the other critters are fine as long as they are in an open area, but these pufts...

My whole base is not big enough for pufts.

Is their any way to keep reproducing pufts in an infinite number?

Also, does drecko need more space than other critters? For some reason, number of dreckos reduced significantly as well.

A pneumatic door ( the mesh one) inside the liquid lock can separate the area for the squeakers... You will require 16 tiles per puffy critter and 12 per drecko.

I keep a single groomed Squeaky in a pen. I've found out that it produces a fair amount of bleach stone. YMMV.

As for producing "infinite" critters... an always-with-an-egg incubator can help... Maybe someone else can suggest a suitable pez-dispenser type ranch.

certain critters require more space than other critters to avoid their debuffs however looking at the numbers you provided tho, 4302 tiles with 351 critters would bearly be enough even for a 12 tile let alone pufts that need 16 spaces.

If I am not mistaken too, the room overlay doesn't show the quantity of eggs so while you might only have 351 critters in the open, there is probably around a extra 20-80 odd wild eggs which have to be added to that number which pretty much sends it into the critical point.

One other issue with pufts for wild farming is for them to retain their off brand species, you need a puft prince present, as such, those pufts will eventually turn into normal pufts at some point unless there is a puft prince somewhere in the wild.

Thanks for the info! I don't have pneumatic door inside that particular liquid lock but i did separate the base with space area with pneumatic door to make a nature reserve. Space area has 13,000 space so i moved my pufts and shine bugs to that area. Should hold around 500 critters. :) All my old pufts are dead due to cramped space, but i am reproducing them again.

Thanks. I didn't know my base would be small for critters.. I moved them to space area with larger space so they are fine now. :)
