It'd be cool if mob-destroyed structures left debris on the spot to be repaired with the necessary materials.

It'd be awesome if, when a structure is destroyed by non-hammer sources (giants, rooks, etc) a form of debris is left over where the structure was destroyed. You could add missing materials to this debris and fix the fallen structures on the spot so that replacement is not entirely necessary. There would be no collision on the debris, a deconstruction staff wouldn't work on debris, and it could still be hammered like normal, so nothing big would change, just a nice QoL thing.

Spoiler

Whenever a structure is destroyed, roughly half the materials fall to the floor and nothing is left of its previous placement. Some structures have an increased placement radius compared to others so when a structure is destroyed the player may have to destroy every surrounding object blocking placement just to place it again (Ie: you can place walls next to a Science Machine, but not as close the other way around, so some placement comes first).

Like Hamlet huh? I like the idea.

Even better would be if you could place the science machine close to wall or crockpots to icebox etc

Why not both.

Repairable structures when say deerclops comes rolling through, AND a more forgiving placement radius.
