HowlVoid
Here's a comparison I've realized when you compare the hardy, hardy 2.0 and dronemaster in a setting where you expect to take a lot of damage. Comparing "Free" healing overtime vs Healing prepared beforehand: The hardy circuit Increases your max HP by 50. The hardy 2.0 circuit Increases your max HP by 150. Combined to reach the same slot amount as the dronemaster of 3; they provide 200 max HP. The dronemaster circuit heals 32 hp a day and in order to heal the amounts above it would take. 1.6~ days for 50 HP 4.7~ days for 150 HP 6.3~ days for 200 HP Now, most boss battles do not take up 6 days in order to surpass the benefits of those circuits. Of course there is also the fact that you have to manually refill those circuits. Though because they increase your hp by a percentage based on your current HP, taking them off reduces the overall damage you took (as Wolfgang did). Removing 200 max hp should theoretically reduce all damage taken by a bit more than half when taking off after a battle making it easier to refill your own hp. When telling on the dronemaster in battle taking a sudden great amount of damage that would place you in danger, any healing you undertake diminishes the usefulness of the dronemaster. There is also a large amounts of healing foods that when eaten, including when avoiding an overflow of hunger, would heal comparatively if not more so. Though it can be argued that that healing is added to the dronemasters passive healing. I won't go into it's usefulness vs beefalo self healing as not everyone uses them. Resources used: When comparing crafting resources, you have a clear winner of spider glands and butterfly wings vs jelly beans (the main crafting components). This is important as a selling point of some circuits is in what you lose when equipping and removing them for a situation. In order for the dronemaster to make up for the used jelly bean it would also need to be equipped for nearly 4 days to pay off. Worth in utility: In my opinion this reduces the dronemaster to a utility circuit more than a circuit that's meant to increase survivability in battle. Hardy circuits, although have to be refilled assuming not having max HP, provide the amount of health the dronemaster would have provided over the course of over 6 days. If there is a case scenario where someone would use this circuit and never remove it than I can see some use. However, that person would need to avoid simple healing foods such as honey ham and pierogi as eating even one in a day has accomplished as much as the dronemaster has done. Well, what if you pair them together? Pairing them together would allow the dronemaster more time to accomplish it's task over a longer period of time without the player being closer to danger, if the player is willing to wait and dismiss all other utility circuits (same for 2 dronemaster but no utilities, only less max HP. You'd have to be at 86 hp at all times for full effect in one day.) Conclusion: My take from this is to simply double the healing from the drone master. Having 62 healing a day or 124 a day with 2 (about what one jelly bean provides in 2 minutes) would make more than impactful than it's current utility niche. Perhaps it greatly increasing the Regen when Wx-78 is near death (20-50ish hp?). Forcing Wx-78 to play near death for max HP Regen. Normal Regen outside those parameters. Or lowering Max HP at a great hp regen. Decreasing the max slot use of the dronemaster to two. I think the biggest issue is it's requirement of a boss item as well as the fact that circuits lose durability when removed. A player that can acquire jellybeans easily where these can be mass produced would be better of using jelly beans. A player who has a great amount of difficulty acquiring jellybeans would be better off not using them, unless they don't mind dismissing all other circuits. Opinions? dronemaster was buffed so this is outdated Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/139486-the-dronemaster-circuit-vs-hardy-circuits/ Share on other sites
blacknight7890
I think if it had some synergy with bees, then it could at the very least provide something outside of combat, like making bees not agro when you harvest a bee box. Or maybe it makes bees non hostile? Idk, just something. If they want to keep it having a relationship with healing maybe it can boost healing items and food. They're 5 hp every 30 seconds! Basically 80 hp a day. loopuleasa
cool analysis the main point about health circuits is that the healing doesn't scale, so you kinda want to heal after the fight by removing circuits Link to comment https://forums.kleientertainment.com/forums/topic/139486-the-dronemaster-circuit-vs-hardy-circuits/#findComment-1562340 Share on other sites
