OxCD
Hi folks I'm trying to ration a single hatch. I need a few coal, but not as much as he can produce. So I'm trying to mix up, between solids, and food. I'm thinking about providing both in his ranch. Question : did someone have an idea how the hatch chooses what he's going to eat from the feeder (if the mix is done inside only one feeder) ? Is he going for the heaviest (so solids) ? Lightest ? Or he's just FIFO ? LIFO ? Or, worse, random... ? Another related question : if I provide food with 2 different method (could be 2 feeders, or just stacking on the floor via a chute), does he have a preference for a feeding method ? Or is it relative to the distance when he gets hungry ? (Going to the closest for example). Or again, random ? Thanks to anyone that has infos ! Sasza22
I think the critters generally prefer to eat from the feeder rather than from the ground. I remember having tons of phosphorite on the ground but shinebugs preferring to eat the bristle berries in the feeder. I got no idea what would they pick if provided with a mix of different things in the feeder. Also my info might be outdated.
